Maybe there is hope for a non right-wing ruling government which would accept a peace process after the war is settled. Certainly the current government and the security services failed in the assessments which allowed the attack to occur. To the point where people speculate if Netanyahu knew about the Hamas plans and decided to ignore them &accept the Israeli deaths in order to open the door for invading Gaza and eliminating Hamas. Will Netanyahu be held accountable by the people for this failure? Israel’s history suggests the clock is ticking for Netanyahu after Hamas attack failures https://www.cnn.com/2023/10/10/middleeast/hamas-attack-crisis-benjamin-netanyahu-intl/index.html
The opinions I have stated are my own -- and are the exact same points that I have made for several years on ET. First -- terrorism by Hamas, Hezbollah and other groups backed by Iran are unacceptable -- this is a hard line. The first step before any discussions regarding peace can be held is the elimination of terrorism. Secondly -- any progress in peace would require a non right-wing government to be in place in Israel. I have very little hope that this will occur. The oppression being used by right-wing Israeli governments will likely only incite more terrorism because the Palestinians will easily see no peace progress is being made. Can the Saudi led peace effort potentially help? Time will tell. Sadly -- this leaves the entire situation as the continued oppression of the Palestinians with more civilian deaths and wounded on both sides. Basically, a complete mess. These "cooler heads" -- you do notice that all the leaders of western nations are supporting Israel in the elimination of Hamas and invasion of Gaza. Where are these "cooler heads" who are urging negotiations, cease fire, etc.? (besides from Arab countries).
I have sent twelve emails to groups, journalists and spoken to six moderately important Jews since yesterday. You might try directing your energy towards something less heinous that the far right want. This is not the time for pretending you have a management job updating the team.
I have clearly outlined my positions and what is likely to happen over the next few weeks. Enlighten us with your perspectives and proposed solutions for this decades old fiasco. Or are you here merely to abuse others and provide no insights of your own?
Who is Mohammed Deif, the Hamas commander behind the attack on Israel? https://www.reuters.com/world/middl...mander-masterminded-attack-israel-2023-10-10/
I linked him to heavy.com which has multiple twitter videos of bodies. He's just playing dumb at this point.
