I second the one who said there's a lot of gold buried in the archives here from back in the day. These days, and no offense to anyone, ET seems more like social hour for traders. I think there's still a few very good and even rich traders hanging around here, just not sure how much it is going to get shared publicly? The best you'll get is probably a few hints and pieces here and there, but probably far from enough to be able to piece anything together on your own in a reasonable amount of time. That said, I don't think you should listen to anyone. That goes for people on ET, books or other sources of knowledge. Don't listen to anything or anyone unless you can verify it for yourself and understand it. There's been plenty of posers on this site who proved to not be all that.
Off and on. Just about through with the wishful thinking. Probably going to just start betting 100% account into weeklies until I blow up for good. Then get a 9-5, start balding, and when asked how things are going respond with "living the dream". The real issue here is that many, like myself, really just want to make good money and see trading as an obvious path for an introvert...well, it's not lol.
Yes it's a social place indeed. Trading is very stressful and it's nice to come on here to unwind and talk about trading, the market or whatever and pick up few gems along the way. You have to really read and listen though and sometimes you do learn something new. And it's not our fault that we stay quiet cuz whenever we want to share something that we observed, we get shot down and ridiculed. LOL We even get called names when we try to help someone. LOL Oh well.
https://www.elitetrader.com/et/pages/hall-of-fame/ This is a decent place to start. Start because it should be a personal research. We are all different. Wired different, with different objectives, qualities and skills. One might learn valuable informations from those silent traders that show up once in a while, or from the very active professionals who are kind enough to share some knowledge. If one can't even spot this people's value after reading plenty... How can one expect to trade profitably.
or from the very active supposed professionals who are kind enough to share some knowledge when they are not bullying you because they disagree with you. LOL
read this earlier, mildly chuckled. on my way home in traffic it flashed back in my brain and finally computed. LMAO. "strange how there's always a little more innocence left to lose."
I don't think you should listen to anyone ever on basically anything other than trying to figure out what people agree on and then consider why the other side might make more sense. Don't listen to me though either. You have to figure everything out for yourself from scratch.
