Not making a political statement just throwing out a fact. I will preface it with all but one member of the family is vaccinated.
Anyway, my wife's boss who is vaccinated has tested positive for Covid and is pretty sick. Not to the point of needing hospitalization, but is very sick. Like my wife she was vaccinated when the shots first came out as they work in a hospital. They were Pfizer shots as that is what was available. Would she have been sicker if not vaccinated? Is she at the limit of the effectiveness of the shots since it would have been closer to the beginning of vaccinations? Or are the shots not working as well for everyone?
Just some questions, and I imagine the loons will jump in on both sides instead of people actually looking for facts and real ideas.

Most of the Covid hospitalizations, Covid ICU admissions, and Covid Deaths in North America have been primarily those without vaccinations.

Yet, I think the best way to view the differences in the Covid Hospital numbers is from the state level instead of the federal level. Today, I started posting charts from the state level and will continue to do such for a while in the same thread Latest Vaccine News.

In my opinion, the federal level is a lot slower than the state level in releasing Covid statistics when comparing Covid Hospital numbers between those vaccinated versus those not vaccinated.

To be intellectual honest you should ask the same question each time when Turveyd is posting.
Or maybe you already understand that he is just making up a lot of things.

CDC study shows unvaccinated people are 29 times more likely to be hospitalized with Covid

Published Tue, Aug 24 20211:00 PM EDT Updated Tue, Aug 24 20212:37 PM EDT

    Key Points

    • Unvaccinated people are about 29 times more likely to be hospitalized with Covid-19 than those who are fully vaccinated, according to a CDC study released Tuesday.
    • The new study also found that unvaccinated people were nearly five times more likely to be infected with Covid than vaccinated people.
    • The data is in line with comments from federal and state health officials, who have been saying for weeks that millions of unvaccinated Americans have been putting themselves at serious risk.
Unvaccinated people are about 29 times more likely to be hospitalized with Covid-19 than those who are fully vaccinated, according to a study released Tuesday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The new study, published in the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, also found that unvaccinated people were nearly five times more likely to be infected with Covid than people who got the shots. The results are based on data from Los Angeles County between May 1 and July 25, the agency said.

“These infection and hospitalization rate data indicate that authorized vaccines were protective against SARS-CoV-2 infection and severe COVID-19 during a period when transmission of the Delta variant was increasing,” the agency wrote in the study.
    • The data is in line with comments from federal and state health officials, who have been saying for weeks that millions of unvaccinated Americans have been putting themselves at serious risk of the delta variant, the most contagious coronavirus strain yet.
CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky said Tuesday the data shows that “if you are not yet vaccinated, you are among those at highest risk.”

“Do not underestimate the risk and serious consequences of this virus,” she said during a White House briefing on the pandemic. “Vaccines are the best tool we have to take charge of this pandemic.”

Covid-19 Associated hospitalizations among unvaccinated and fully vaccinated.

As of Monday, more than 201 million Americans, or 60.8% of the total U.S. population, have had at least one Covid shot, according to data compiled by the CDC. More than 171 million Americans, or 51.5% of the total U.S. population, are fully vaccinated, according to the agency.

President Joe Biden said Monday that “virtually all” Covid hospitalizations and deaths across the U.S. continue to be among unvaccinated people.

“Let me be clear: There are cases where vaccinated people do get Covid-19, but they are far less common than unvaccinated people getting Covid-19. And most importantly, their conditions are far less severe,” he said during a speech.

U.S. officials hope the Food and Drug Administration granting Pfizer and BioNTech’s Covid vaccine full approval will persuade some unvaccinated Americans to finally get the shots.

White House chief medical advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci said Monday that if the U.S. can get through winter and get the majority of people who have not received the shots vaccinated, the nation could have some control over the virus by the spring.

“As we get into the spring, we could start getting back to a degree of normality, namely resuming the things that we were hoping we could do, restaurants, theaters, that kind of thing,” Fauci said during an interview on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360.”

The study published Tuesday was based on 43,127 infections in residents of Los Angeles County, California. Covid hospitalizations were defined as hospital admissions occurring within 14 days after infection, the agency said.

Among all county residents, hospitalization rates increased “exponentially” among unvaccinated, fully vaccinated and partially vaccinated people, with the highest rates among unvaccinated people in late June, the agency said.

The study had limitations, the agency said.

For example, vaccination data for people who lived in the county at the time of their confirmed infection but who were vaccinated outside of California were unavailable, leading to a misclassification of their vaccination status, the agency said.

P.S. At a later date...too many Covidiots have a habit of asking me to repost or send them a link to a message post like the above for verification. I've refused each and every time. They then say the data does not exist...therefore I'm lying. :D

I then say screw them. I do not cater to someone's need to debate nor via the façade to have an intellectual argument. This is a Pandemic...stop playing games.

Most likely yes. The story doesn't give us enough information. What is her age? Is she overweight? Does she have other morbidity factors like diabetes? How many months passed between the shot and her getting sick? Viral load still counts, so if she was exposed for an extended period of time, that is bad. That is why masking and soc. distancing are still important.

If let's say she is 60+, overweight, with low vit D, diabetic, and she got the shots back in February, it is not surprising if she got sick even with the vaccine. She would be probably dead with out it.

On the other hand if she is only 40ish, no comorbidities, and her 2nd shot was only weeks before the infection getting seriously sick should be very rare and surprising.

As I said, NOT ENOUGH INFO.

She is in her late 40's to early 50's. She is in good health, no other health issues, not overweight. She wears a mask at the very least at work as it is required, and as a leader she always has it on. Outside of work it is possible she hasn't, I can't answer that one. I don't have an exact date for her shot, but it was about the same time as my wife which was the end of January this year.

For starters ignore masks, masks are proven to increase the spread, the virus is tiny, you can't see it, but can see the holes in your mask, think about that.

If her last Shot was that early in Jan, did she not have 2nd shot? If not that be down to 30% area effectiveness already, so much worse off than natural immunity.

But she could also have the Flu, Flu makes millions ill every year and kills 1000nds aswell and it oddly has exactly the same symptoms as covid delta ( Covid Original specific symptoms, that's burnt out already I swear ), and the Jab will give you zero help from the Flu.

Also, all the wearing masks, social distancing, hand gels has ruined our immune systems, people will get seriously sick from minor colds / flu's for some time to come :(
