More than 20 major cities have reduced police budgets in some form.

And many not major cities defunded police budgets including Durham in our area. The result was that crime increased greatly. There is a direct correlation.

Source as to how they were defunded, and how it affected crime.

Not letting police departments buy tanks won't necessarily result in an increase in crime.
Not letting police departments buy fancy cars won't necessarily result in an increase in crime.

Let's see some data, statistics, and sources.

How about cutting the funding for police and moving the money over to a "violence intervention program "-- a program which failed to hire most of the "violence interveners" it was supposed the hire. And the ones they did hire were found to be totally ineffective. Fortunately Durham recently elected a new mayor and non-progressive council members whose first action was to restore the police budget & get hiring back on track. The story of Durham including the "no bail" progressive D.A. has been covered in detail in the local press and I have posted multiple media stories about it already -- complete with stats. The progressive D.A. is the next dud we need to get out of office in the upcoming primary & general election. Keep in mind that Durham is a fully Democratic city -- only the primaries matter -- the Republicans don't even generally field candidates for Durham city local offices in the general election.

Since this has all been provided before.... we will feed it to you piece by piece over several days. You can go back and read the previous posts if you need the information right away.

We will start with the City of Durham crime statistics.

Using this example you gave, show us where it gives data and statistics supporting your contention that 'defunding the police' has caused an increase in crime.
