    On the plus side - I have really good sleep (8-10 hrs). The sleep is not very restorative (not sure that's a word) - if I take too much my heart rate variability (proxy for recovery) is low - but as long as I have less than 3 edibles recovery is good. Creativity also goes up.

    On the negative side -
    Munchies - I slam chocolate and other shit down like crazy - really bad
    Productivity suffers - if I'm high at 5 I can't get any real stuff done - just basic/routine activities (which is weird cause if I'm high at noon I can get deep into the zone for work as long as I don't get interrupted).
    Obviously family interactions suffer - I usually want to be alone
    I'm constantly in a bad mind space when sober cause I know I'm giving in to the addiction which seems like an easy way out.

    Is this related to working your profession for "the man" or for self-directed activity?
    If for da man, how many hours / wk vs self-directed would you say?

    Cacao chocolate or consumer "chocolate"?

    Is this related to working your profession for "the man" or for self-directed activity?
    If for da man, how many hours / wk vs self-directed would you say?

    50 ish hrs/week. It's somewhere in the middle - working for a small machine learning startup (joined around 30 people [series A funded] - now we're around 200 [series B]) reporting to one of the founders. For the most part I get to call my own shots with minimal parental supervision.

    I'll have to check this out - thx :)

    I bike a lot - either on a trainer (I use a program called trainerroad 3x/week) or outside and I try to lift weights 3 days - mostly to avoid back pain.

    Something you may notice is that if you get up at X:O'clock without fail, going to sleep will take care of itself. Rise and Shine, hell it only hurts for fifteen seconds. Maybe put that on your list as a specific activity to be measured.

    Chocolate jones - Pick up some beans, man.
    Roast those bad boys in a frying pan on the stove. Nothing to it. Stir here and there and when they start popping and talking to you keep your eyes on them and when the smell gets freakin awsome, they are done and ready to shell and scarf. As time goes by, you might go more in depth with it, but this is all ya need to do to get started. Don't just go for nibs, be sure to get some beans and if you want nibs too, no problemo, but with the chocolate jones you got, get them beans!
