The problem with the Zimmerman trial was he was overcharged , Prosecutorial mob mentality , just like Kenosha
There should be a Federal law that if you instigated in any way to a claimed self defense shooting you lose your self defense rights.
You should take a look at my initial posts on the Trayvon/Zimmerman situation --- and my later posts as well. The reality is that neither Trayvon Martin or George Zimmerman are individuals that most people have much sympathy for. Both of them had lengthy histories of problems.
That is going to cause all sorts of problems with the meaning of "instigated" -- for example is telling someone to get the hell off your property considered "instigation".
Zimmeriman is clearly the one the who started the altercation and followed your steps precisely to get away with murder. Step 1: (Zimmerman) Armed himself Step 2: (Zimmerman) Confronted/antagonized Martin in public Step 3: (Zimmerman)Waited for Martin to respond in "threatening" manner Step 4: (Zimmerman) Shot Martin in "self-defense" Step 5: (Zimmerman)Walked free as right-wing hero
Obviously not. Most situations are easy to tell who is the instagator. If a trespasser is on someone else's property the property owner is not the instagator.
My citation is really more about the need to change the law potentially plus the absurd politicization of these events (e.g. they are fund raising off of Rittenhouse).. Under the law, Zimmerman was found to be not guilty by a jury. In a parallel scenario, the same result may happen in this trial if the jury believes it was self-defense while being attacked by Arbery. Should I note once again the neighborhood watch guidelines which I posted previously during the Zimmerman trial which outlines that a "neighborhood watch" person should not go hunting someone down; they should dial 911 and contact law enforcement. Here is the old post again for reference. https://www.elitetrader.com/et/thre...he-hell-out-of-me.239321/page-19#post-3483305
This means I can stand on my property, shout all sort of expletives to entice someone to trespass -- so I can shoot them then. Seeing that you believe any level of instigation - as long as I am on my own property gives me carte blanche to shoot whoever I please. Under your definition I can probably throw shiat at them and still not be considered the instigator if I'm on my own property.
