QUOTE]Quote from trendlover: No. I asking you why when Zimmerman only see the boy walking around, he feel suspicion. Why? Why he have fear and suspician from the boy walking on the street with no crime? Zimmerman is first to feel some threat because he see NOTHING but the boy walking. You tell me that why Lucrum. There is only one witness to what happened to start the fight - Zimmerman. The police have no reason to question his version of events since most of what he says was corroborated by witnesses and the 911 call recording. There seems there is no physical evidence to suggest otherwise. The 911 tape is the only other source of evidence that might explain how the altercation started. Apparently there is nothing that could be heard on the call that indicates Zimmerman started the physical altercation. All that is heard is Zimmerman calling for help - corroborated by the witness. In the absence of other evidence, the only conclusion that can be reached is that Zimmerman acted in self-defense.
So you are admitting you have no proof that Martin attacked Zimmerman first. It appears we are at an impasse. Except for the part that the authors of Florida's "Stand Your Ground" law stating that Zimmerman has no protection under their law and needs to be arrested. Trayvon Martin case: Sponsors of Florida âStand Your Groundâ law say George Zimmerman should be arrested âThey got the goods on him. They need to prosecute whoever shot the kid,â former GOP state lawmaker says The Florida lawmakers who crafted the state's controversial "Stand Your Ground" law said neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman should be arrested for shooting and killing unarmed teen Trayvon Martin. Former state Sen. Durell Peaden and current state Rep. Dennis Baxley said the law they wrote in 2005, which allows someone who feels threatened to "meet force with force" without backing down first, was being misapplied in the shooting death of the 17-year-old, the Miami Herald reported. "They got the goods on him. They need to prosecute whoever shot the kid," Peaden, a Republican, told the Herald. "He has no protection under my law." ... But Peaden and Baxley said that 911 tapes showing that Zimmerman followed Martin despite a dispatcher's request to stay away appeared to show that the 28-year-old crime watch volunteer was the aggressor. "The guy lost his defense right then," Peaden told the Herald. "When he said, 'I'm following him,' he lost his defense."
Because the neighborhood had experienced a rash of burglaries and the shooter didn't recognize the boy as a resident of that neighborhood.
Well good. And as probably the only person on this thread who has gone through the training to be a member of a neighborhood watch association, let me say at this point the proper action is to call 911, report the suspicous person, and wait for the police. As outlined in the training, Do NOT get out of your vehicle. Do NOT confront the suspicous individual. You do not have any law enforcement powers as a neighborhood watch person. Let's see what the Neighborhood Watch Program Executive Director has to say. National Sheriff's Association Releases Statement on Florida Neighborhood Watch Tragedy NSA has no information indicating the community has ever even registered with the program. "The alleged action of a "self-appointed neighborhood watchman" last month in Sanford, FL significantly contradicts the principles of the Neighborhood Watch Program," stated NSA Executive Director Aaron D. Kennard, Sheriff (ret.). "NSA has no information indicating the community where the incident occurred has ever even registered with the NSA Neighborhood Watch program." âThe Neighborhood Watch Program fosters collaboration and cooperation with the community and local law enforcement by encouraging citizens to be aware of what is going on in their communities and contact law enforcement if they suspect something - NOT take the law in their own hands," continued Executive Director Kennard. "The alleged participant ignored everything the Neighborhood Watch Program stands for and it resulted in a young man losing his life. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Trayvon Martin during this terrible time."
Well that settles then , it all boils down to how some lawmaker making a decision from incomplete information as to how it "appeared " to him. Could it be that mr lawmaker is trying to protect his law from being considered racist in origin?
According to the Zimmerman supporters you can follow someone, get out of your car to confront them then claim self defense after killing them
No argument here from me. But these are guidelines, not necessarily laws. Again, So you're admitting you have no proof Zimmerman attacked first?
