Sorry it took so long to respond - but I have been busy. If you are talking about when I traded using the D.O.M. - I coded an indicator to show the Ratio of the Bid_Ask. It would add up the "Visible" Bid and Ask columns - do the calculation - then put the Ratio on my chart. If the Ratio for Bid side was a Minimum of 1.5/1 over the Ask - I would Short - and if the Ratio of the Ask was a Minimum of 1.5/1 over the Bid - I would Buy. The 1.5/1 was a Absolute Minimum - I preferred a larger Ratio - say a 2/1 or more - but it also depended on what I saw on the Inside_Bid and Ask - at the time I saw the Ratio. Back then - I had the Ratio on my NinjaTrader chart. I originally discovered and developed my idea for the Ratio - way before NinjaTrader - when I was using J-Trader by Patsystems.
Yes, I am pretty sure that is what I'm talking about. There were circles at the bottom of the screen, and they would be either above or under but not both, so I remember seeing this comparison. Look, I think there were 5 on each side. So it would look like this: O O O O O X X X X X And it could do this: O X O O O - X O X X X Or this X O O X X - O X X O O etc.
I really don't know what you are talking about - with all the "O" and "X" - but here is my answer. Depending on the platform - some have up to 5 Levels "Visible" - on the Bid_Ask - others have up to 10 Levels. The Bid is on the Left - Ask on the Right. These are the "Visible" Levels - there are actually many more. Need to look for Large blocks of Contracts on one side or the other at a specific price - which means they are trying to force Price to go a certain direction. Those large Contracts - can be Pulled quickly - so a trader needs to be aware. When I trade with the D.O.M. - I also watched the Inside Bid and Inside Ask - along with the Ratio. I don't use the D.O.M. anymore - haven't for many years. The way I trade now is much simpler. Currently - I have been using just the Arrows that my Algos print on the Screen - very simple - really don't have to think too much. However - as shown in some pictures - I still trade my old Support and Resistance - doing CounterTrend trades - which is still my favorite way to trade - even more than the Arrows and D.O.M. As I said previously - I am mainly a Scalper - but I also do some Scalp_Trend combination trades. With a Scalp_Trend trade - say I trade 5 contracts - I will close 3 or 4 at a couple of ticks - then have a Runner. But - again - I prefer Fast Scalping. It really is not that hard to do.
Sorry for the confusion. Maybe I am thinking of a different thread. There is an indicator I remember that had ten rows. That's what the X and O was. Each one seemed to be able to be green or red. If one of the top 5 was green, the bottom corresponding dot would be off.
I seriously do not recall the "O" and "X". I did code the Ratio - which was all I needed to know - had it on my Ninjatrader chart - but that is all - no indicator. If you or someone you know has access to Tradestation - you will see several pictures of the D.O.M. - with an explanation of how I used it - but that was many years ago now - hopefully the thread is still there. I haven't used Tradestation for years. For a short time - I was using Tradestation and Ninjatrader at the same time - but finally dumped Tradestation - too many problems. Moved my code to Multicharts - and finally stopped using Ninjatrader as well. If you want to talk about how I used the D.O.M. - send me a PM - I will be happy to explain how I used it.
Sorry, there's no X or O. That was symbolic of the red and green dots and I was trying to show that they would appear opposite each other. I liked your indicator so much I made a thread about it 11 years ago. The images no longer show. https://www.elitetrader.com/et/threads/what-indicator-is-this-vst.134389/
Okay. I know it's kind of late.. but thanks to the VSTscalper for letting me join the live session through Skype. I honestly thought what he was claiming simply can't be achieved but he showed it to me in live sessio. LIVE! It was amazing. Really. Still there are somethings that I can't figure out, such as an algo which detects the direction, but it really works. He also was a super nice guy Trading world is so deep...
