In the U.S. the suit from Imane Khelif would not get past the discovery phase. The lawyers for the defendant would simply demand a chromosome test. If it comes back XY the case is closed on the gender of the accuser. According to the International Boxing Association, Imane Kelif twice failed gender chromosome tests administered by independent labs. Imane was given the opportunity to clear up the gender issue by taking a third independent test paid for by her home country; she refused to do this
Who gives a shit about IBA run by a Russian? The IOC, which in 2023 stripped the IBA of its status as the global governing body for boxing, cleared Khelif to compete in the 2024 Olympics and said the IBA’s gender tests were illegitimate and lacked credibility.
The IBA is still the world-wide recognized organization defining boxing across the globe. Only the IOC and the Olympics fail to recognize the IBA. The IOC can make any statement they please about the legitimacy of the gender tests of these two boxers -- but it is pretty clear that the IOC was only trying to defend their flawed decision to allow them to be included as females. Considering the IOC allowed obviously male athletes to compete as females in multiple sports in the recent Paris Olympics they have no leg to stand on. The Zambia Women's Soccer team competed with four biological males on their team at the Olympics (who had been banned in other competitions for being male). Two of the biological males on the Zambia Women's soccer team were stars with lengthy histories of being banned from other events. This is just one example of biological men, who previously competed as males, showing up at the recent Olympics and competing as females. I have previously made my thoughts clear on this in this other thread - https://www.elitetrader.com/et/threads/biological-men-undermining-womens-sports.380533/ Women have come a long way in sports. It has taken decades for women to make progress around the world just to be allowed to play and to have decent facilities to play in. In the U.S., Title IX drove many of the improvements for women in sports. Other countries around the world had similar initiatives. Now all this progress is being undermined. Any biological man can simply claim they are a woman and then go compete against women. This is nowhere more clear than in the 2024 Olympics in Paris where the officials stated that simply being marked as female on your passport will allow you to proclaim you are a woman. No tests for gender or testosterone level required. Even if you have been banned in other athletic events for being a biological male -- this had no bearing on competing in women's events in Paris.
Run by a Russian who is acting like a diva on social media, that's why nobody gives a shit about IBA. The tests themselves, the process of the tests, the ad hoc nature of the tests are not legitimate," IOC spokesperson Mark Adams told a press conference. "The testing, the method of the testing, the idea of the testing which happened kind of overnight. None of it is legitimate and this does not deserve any response," Adams said.
Here is a post that addresses the claims regarding the Russian angle of the IBA regarding this gender testing -- as well as the false claims that it was only initiated because Khelif beat an "undefeated" Russian female boxer. https://www.elitetrader.com/et/thre...s-into-a-sh-t-show.380520/page-2#post-6030456 There is no defending what the IOC did at the recent Paris 2024 Olympics. Even leaving boxing out of it, the IOC allowed obviously male athletes to compete as females in multiple sports. In nearly every situation these biological male athletes had already been banned by their sport's governing organization from competing as female. Somehow you don't address this absurdity. For instance explain to us why obvious biological males were allowed to compete on Zambia's female soccer team by the IOC.
As carefully explained in my linked posts -- the tests were performed by reputable independent laboratories that do tests for multiple sports. The test requests came from the national organizations hosting the tournaments, not from the IBA. Both athletes requested that the results not be released -- hence the IBA conformed to their requests. This could be cleared up by either the two boxers allowing the release of the tests or by administering an additional test at a recognized independent lab funded by their national organization. Now once again -- you have failed to address that the IOC allowed obviously biological male athletes to compete in multiple female sports at the recent Paris Olympics.
I am not even asking for the test results if you can't find them for any reason - just release the test procedures at least so I can make my own assessment. Data is the issue, where is it?
The privacy request includes that the types of tests, nor the test procedures can be released. Both boxers could clear this up simply by allowing the test information from the independent labs to be released. Now once again -- you have failed to address that the IOC allowed obviously biological male athletes to compete in multiple female sports at the recent Paris Olympics.
I don't give a shit about addressing your deflection, show me the test procedures of the IBA. What is stopping IBA from revealing the test procedures? How can I arrive at any conclusions without even knowing how IBA tested the atheletes?
