You seem to google only what fits the narrative... Nearly 17 months ago in New Delhi, Algerian boxer Imane Khelif was disqualified from the International Boxing Association’s world championships three days after she won an early-round bout with Azalia Amineva, a previously unbeaten Russian prospect. The disqualification meant Amineva’s official record was perfect again.
First, Azalia Amineva was not previously undefeated. She was defeated back in August 25, 2022 at the All-Russian National Summer Semifinals -- so AP has this wrong. Nearly all her fights prior 2023 were in Russia -- which is next to meaningless from an international perspective. Her only previous international experience was in youth boxing in Budva, Montenegro in 2020/21 and developmental boxing in Gradska Hala Mostonga, Sombor rather than adult boxing. Perhaps I should have been more clear. Khelif did not fight the Russian in any later medal rounds. The IBA Women's 2023 Results for 66Kg can be found here. Disqualified Khelif did not place Amineva anywhere near a position to get a medal. It should be noted that Imane Khelif also failed the gender test in 2022 at the IBA Championships but action was not taken until 2023 after she failed a gender test a second time. Both national associations hosting the championships (in 2022 and 2023) petitioned the IBA to ban Khelif which is why it was on the agenda for the meeting -- it's not like the IBA arbitrarily decided to tackle this issue. I can state the AP article is also wrong about Khelif being disqualified due to high levels of testosterone in her system based on the information in all the other articles. It has been stated that this is not why she was disqualified from the gender testing. Once again let me state that Imane Khelif was offered the opportunity to complete an appeal. If she thought the two tests from independent labs were incorrect then she could have demanded they be released publicly. Instead she demanded they be kept secret. She also had the opportunity to be tested again at an outside independent lab funded by her national association and did not do so. All the available facts at this point appear to indicate that Khellif is not a biological female -- especially since no steps were taken to refute the IBA's decision based on independent testing from two outside labs.
