As documented in other thread, there's some funky huge-font thing happening, and another user reporting some certificate problem on launch. The real concern, as I wrote in that other thread is that we have no idea what else this update might have broken; or whether it's just an aesthetic/font thing. Well I can now report that API order submission from Excel is busted as well (tested on 2 machines). If something as fundamental as that got broken by this update, god only knows what else might be lurking, but I don't feel like being their guinea pig. (May try rolling back to "STABLE" rather than LATEST version...not sure if I can roll back to previous LATEST version or not.)
I also had execution issues!!! Stop didn't work...then when stop didn't work I tried marketing out I COULDN'T EVEN MARKET ORDER OUT!
I'm experiencing the same API order submission problems in Excel here too. The orders don't seem to be going through, at all. Wish there was an easy way to go back to the prior version. IB needs to push back out the prior version ASAP while they figure out what went wrong with the latest update. Please
Exactly...But I spoke with support...they dont give you the option to go back and download even 1 version back...you have to jump back to ancient STABLE version
Yikes... and I'd assume the ancient "stable" version has its own compatibility issues with an Excel DDE built to work on their latest TWS (?).
As a follow-up, I went back to the last stable version and it seems to work OK. I'd recommend it if you've got the Excel DDE.
Yes, rolling back to using Stable was not my preferred option, but the only one currently available. There are indeed certain quirks and bugs native to the STABLE version that have been fixed in the LATEST TWS versions so using STABLE and remembering all of the little hiccups has been annoying, but it's all I can do until they fix LATEST. (Just FYI, though, STABLE isn't some ancient Betamax-like technology...it's a perfectly fine, functional version of TWS, just without a lot of the features of LATEST...none of which are mission-critical for me; in fact, I used it as my default TWS installation until around 6 months ago when I decided that the features in LATEST were worth upgrading for.)
Not allowing you to go back one version is just crazy. the stable version states it is a Sep 2019 version but it is more like May 2018. That version does not allow for many API additions. Yesterday I thought it was my issue so I uninstalled TWS and the API - this morning my TWS was so bad this morning that it was disconnecting and reconnecting so I was checking my network connections. I finally noticed that the memory usage was off the charts. My TWS was only using a max of about 1 GIG of memory previously - it was now using 3 GIG doing the exact same things and eventually crashing.
