Yes, the real give away when he said he used AI to code his magic codes. AI is mentioned by many these days to fool those who doesn't know what AI really is.
Hello ironchef, I think AI is a waste of time and energy and very stupid to even worry about. Everytime I see AI, I ignore it. I think building an algo day trading systems that is reliable is good use of time and energy.
NN Taleb would say ... Better be Stupid & Convex than Smart & Concave You can't be lucky with limited upside and unlimited downside.
Definitely. A wiser man than me suggested that apparent good luck is often down to good planning, awaiting an opportunity to deploy it. I'm sure I'm not alone here, but having spent lots of time and effort on the planning part, I find I can often make my own good luck.
Agree @SimpleMeLike. For now AI is still just hype. Try chatGPT and you will understand it is still a long way from real. Best wished to you.
It's completely understandable that you have reservations or skepticism about AI. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and preferences when it comes to technology and its applications. If you believe that building algo day trading systems is a good use of time and energy, that's a valid perspective as well. Algorithmic trading systems can offer advantages such as automation, speed, and the ability to process large amounts of data, which can potentially improve trading efficiency and profitability. It's important to focus on what aligns with your interests and goals. Ultimately, the choice of utilizing AI or building algo trading systems depends on individual preferences and the specific needs of traders.
%% TRUE work + choice is much more important that chance; + chance is not really luck @all, even though people confuse it all the time.. ''You can't be 'lucky' with unlimited downside'' =Seykio Quote You cant succeed with unlimited downside also, but wise profits + wise plans can help...........
%% LOL good trend hint BUT sometimes its good to get out + get in again; found something better, trend wise. In another case\ you would have to ask jJm Cramer's wife why she sold his hedge fund stocks on his bagel break. But he admitted she was a better trader than him
Hello ironchef, Sorry, but I have no time for chatGPT. Honestly , everytime I hear this AI and chatGPT, I honestly think waste of time and SCAM. Like people who lost money and time and energy in Bitcoin. Sorry to be so blunt, but for me, I will die and or get rich with ES futures market clicking buy or sell button everyday. Sorry, I see the reward for my effort instantly everyday clicking. I do not see any money in my pocket with AI or chatGPT. I see no proof AI or chatGPT making money in the futures market. Bills due on the first of the month where I live at. We traders do not even have the resources and time and energy to mess with this stuff. you go down this rabbit hole, you be there forever, while the eyes on the chart never live to me. You build algo with chatGPT, back test, fail. You keep doing this and their is only so many ideas you can ask chatGPT to do. Do you really think their is not big companies already doing this with big time computer scientist with WAY more time and money then you alone?
I play with chatGPT in my spare time because I am a sucker for new toys. It is OK if asking it to help write a high school term paper but for serious work, not there by a long shot. One time I asked it to write a VBA Excel code, it did, but the code it wrote was total garbage. Lot's of luck if you ask chatGPT to help you find a winning trade.
