Hi Everyone, new here. New everywhere. Learning the tools of the trade as well as the trade itself. Just crowd sourcing opinions.

Please tell me; What platform do you use? For what? (Options, stocks, futures, equities etc) How do you use it? Do you like it? Think you might stick with it? Think you might try another one? What're your goals?

I started with Robinhood back in 2017. (Yes, yes, I know.) However I grew my savings pretty well with it and have been mildly successful for an amateur. I signed up for We-Bull, and now I am with think or swim. I'm not an expert but I do intend to become one. My goal is to be fully self employed as a day trader by the end of this year.

in before: I know the platform doesn't make the trader. I used RH because it was free. You'll notice I gravitated to the free ones. I don't yet consistently make enough to match my day job's salary plus whatever fees would be incurred by a superior platform. Tell me why whatever platform you use is superior.

I have downloaded the demo and got your auto-email. I see it in a lot of youtube videos. So far I don't think I am one of the volume traders y'all target. Not yet at least.

    Sierra Chart.
    I trade futures.
    Highly customizable.
    Reliable, light weight and fast.
Good customer service. Free with AMP.
Only problem is there is no API I believe.
But they have spreadsheet like Excel.
    However it’s kind if a pain ...

Got nothing wrong with the platform.
I might switch for Trading tech.
    Everything is integrated.

    Use DOM and charts.
    No indicator whatsoever.

I'm good at excel. Honestly I believe everyone here is probably better at it than I am.

What's the pain part? The spreadsheets or the lacking API?

  8. Sekiyo

    Both.
You have to use their spreadsheet,
But it’s really not user friendly. Excel is 100x better.

  9. Using IBKR, but TOS is nice for charts.
