New to Trading

  1. Hello all,
I am new to this whole day trading thing, but I know enough to know that I can lose my shirt if I go into it without some know how. I was hoping for two things:

    1) Some links on fundamentals.
    2) If there exists such a thing , a software trading package which will help me analyze candlestick charts.

    Thanks!

I would suggest virtual/paper trading for a few months before you trade real money. Learn about trading psychology, money management, and chart reading. Learn how to use various indicators, don't just use the candlestick charts. A good book is "Trading for a Living" by Alexander Elder. When you trade real money start small. Nothing can replace the feel and emotions of risking your own capital but doing this will help you learn from your mistakes without loosing real money and it will help you find a strategy that works. Good luck.

  3. Spend a few weeks with the board's search function. 99% of the questions you had have likely been asked and (mostly) answered before.
