My favorite personal chef when I was a kid: But, alas, the poor guy got canned when I knew better. Even so, the memory is still fresh in my mind (probably due to the preservatives).
Check out my thread about kratom: https://www.elitetrader.com/et/threads/kratom.315951/page-2#post-4610370 It is a triple treat, gives energy, mood stabilizer and pain reducer.... Because of back problems I don't jog, but walk uphill. Downhill I walk backwards, this way there is no extra pressure on my knees.
Haha, I just recalled my favorite thing as a kid. Now all I see is me destroying my knees in Africa. (Iguana, I know..) Easiest trading in a while since yesterday. I may start a cider farm in Colombia. Ok, that is just clearly another subconscious tell that Steve Jobs did a lot of acid. I will be a good boy.
So that must mean that on level ground you walk sideways. Which explains why you're so crabby. Kidding aside, how did you hurt your back?
Crabby.. sideways.. all going a bit Spongebob haha. I would very strongly recommend getting Mizuno Wave Prophecy (I think I have gen 4) if you have a back problem affected by compression. Saved my life and sanity. The mechanical system has way way more *travel than say Asics (my old fave). It was only after I started wearing these religiously did my spine start to heal faster than I was hurting it. *Colombia is hilly, Medellin is in a steep valley and often there are irregular drops, step down a little farther than expected. etc, that would jolt my back badly.
Another glorious and simple morning trading. Plus closed a swing from 60.55 to 65.55 on CL. I need a plan for my five dolla. I just remembered the old Spielberg problem, I'll director me a movie! Set to play:
Sorry to jump in late to the thread @Slartibartfast, very interesting stuff and thanks for getting the conversation going. A couple thoughts for what they're worth... 1. Do something entrepreneurial. Perhaps better for your situation is to do something entrepreneurial in the social enterprise space, essentially setting up and running a non-profit that is self-sustaining. I have a friend who runs a non-profit in Kenya, for example, that eliminates most of the middlemen for getting crops from the village to market and getting inputs like fertilizer and seeds to the farmer, using a village by village model that trains what is essentially a franchise in each village. They make a profit on what they do, which supports expanding it to more villages, and once they're done with a village it's self-sustaining. I give that only as an example of social enterprise, not necessarily the scale or the area where you'd want to do it. I've found being a plain old for-profit entrepreneur is immensely intellectually stimulating for me, and I plan to move into the social enterprise space when I retire in a few years based on a bunch of conversations I've had with a bunch of older entrepreneurs who at one point in time found themselves in your position. 2. You haven't mentioned any hobbies. I know, sounds boring and sad. There are some guys I sail against who are retired NASA engineers who absolutely get their intellectual stimulation from their hobby. They've got their sailboat wired up with hundreds of sensors and analyze every race, as well as mentoring new racers to the sport and doing a ton of work organizing races and events that guys like me just don't have the time for but greatly appreciate. Again not saying that sailing would be your thing, but sharing the experience of seeing very smart, very driven folks stay both through their hobby. I look forward to hearing more from you. As I mentioned I will soon be in your shoes and have tried to be a student of this for a few years now, so your experience is valuable.
Originally ice skating. The rule is, when you fall just let your body fall, don't jerk back. The same with dropping anything, sometimes trying to catch a falling object you do more damage than just letting it break. (this was actually a trading related analogy) But yes, you could pull your back by catching a falling kni... I mean cup. After that almost every year I did something like tennis, basketball, even running up the stairs (not kidding) when I injured it annually. Once even in the ocean when jumping at the waves. That felt really silly. But anyway, I don't complain, I actually don't take anything for pain and stretching takes care of it. By the afternoon I am all good and hiking uphill, it is usually the mornings that I feel a bit tender...
Sobriety is great, but life can become dry/repetitive. Recreational drug use is a nice way to break up the monotony. Just a band-aid solution, but effective. Christ turned water into wine. If there is a God, apparently He wanted us to get high/intoxicated from time to time. Good luck.
