Malicious Multinicks Stalking

  1. I'm okay with ET protecting privacy for everyone and I've no problem with those who have several nics to serve their purposes, but for someone to give out advice to others or to act like a pro or an elite trader, I agree with Gotcha that such person must provide some kind of proof to verify their credential. They don't need to disclose their trading statements for public to see, but to Baron or moderator to verify so that they can elect that person to either Intermediately, Senior or Elite status. Doing so, I'm sure most newbies on this forum won't questions and yet, to show some respect to senior ones. I'm also very sure that senior members would love to hang around on here if they are respected.

Trust is something that is missing on ET and this will continue to remain as a problem for years. If I were a profitable trader, I'd slowly disappear from this website because of getting tired for being questions over and over again.

If someone wants to be a trader, they have to be able to distinguish signal from noise.

I don't think members need a "licence" to offer advice. If other members think its unsuitable, not best or just plain wrong they can challenge it. That's the nature and purpose of a forum.

Actually, I'm talking about the Multinick problem here in the thread about Multinicks although the thread title is "Malicious Multinick Stalking"...

The issue is that ET is "no longer" protecting members privacy due to the recent IP address reveal plus the IP location on an image of a map...all provided publicly by Baron himself.

The issue that I may have express wrongly...was the IP address reveal due to it being OK to do such because that particular member is no longer a member of this forum because Baron stated the member is banned.

Or is this a new policy that will be apply to all members...publicly revealing the IP address. Yet, as others have noted...doing such is an invasion of privacy. Thus, the issue is not about protecting members privacy...its about what now seems like a change in policy involving "no longer" a protection of members privacy due to the IP address reveal by the owner himself although the owner stated he got the info from another article or forum.

Its a weird issue. I've seen Facebook and Twitter delete images that were an invasion of privacy even though the person posting the info had retrieved it from another online location.

In contrast, the issue that Gotcha is talking about is a completely different issue that has no connection beyond making it the same for everyone considering just about everyone at one time or another has offer up a piece of advice about trading related concerns.

Heck, I just saw a post by a member in another thread that got a reply that his advice was typical newbie perceptions (I reworded it nicely here) although the message post got "Likes" by veteran members.

My point, what you consider to be a member verifying their "credentials" when they are giving trading advice here at ET is different than me saying all members should do the same here at ET considering all members have given out advice at least once or twice at this forum.

Simply, if the owner is going to publicly share the IP address of one member at a forum that any guest viewer can view "without" registration...he should do the same for all members although I'm sure everyone knows that the IP address sharing was specific to this situation involving "multinicks abuse".

As someone else suggested in another thread...when do we lose our privacy rights and whom decides such ???

I saw a similar like question here in Canada via the scrutiny of Facebook after their own privacy fiasco.

Last of all, if the member was really a man pretending to be a woman...as I stated in a prior post...there's other psychological issues involving gender identity...sexually or psychologically.

Then again, we don't know this person and there may be a real man with issues involving the need to be a woman. As we all know, many people hide that about themself for many years prior to "coming out of the closet" about what gender they want to be publicly identified with.

I've recently met someone (a parent of one of the kids on the hockey team of my youngest child)...he's (the parent) now publicly a she and going thru medical changes to make that a reality. It all makes me wonder if he (she) hides such on social media because its private and they choose (its their choice) when they go public with such info.

I don't want my IP address being published as I am unsure what would be the implications. Thank you.

lol, your source of intel is leaves much to be desired.

Although he never stated explicitly, an astute observing person can put the pieces together to see that monthly he was clearing north of 300k just in futures.

yeah, no, do your own DD.

If unwilling to do your own DD, the opinion that it's impossible is true too - but just for you and the herd in which you associate.

Stop posting, shoeless Joe. Hershey posted the IBTWS screenshot and responded that 110K was efficient use of capital. IOW that was all he needed for his futures ATM machine. The guy died broke with tax liens.

You’re responding to me while I am on ignore. So either you’re lying or you’re logging out to read/respond. Sounds efficient to you?

  10. destriero...lol I have him on ignore. Just because your a good trader should not give you the ability to go around ET and attack people. He usually does it at night when he gets drunk...he is a very insecure person. He should be banned.

I remember when he used the nick Atticus...I was so taken with his knowledge...still am...but what happened to him? Is it the contest he talks about twisting his insecurities up?

    ES

P.S. Also this business of altering quotes...could you or I get away with this folks? He knows exactly what he is doing and what the rules are here? This is a bad cookie and not good for ET under any nick.
