Everyone and their mother are jumping onto the cryptocurrency bandwagon and Kodak is no different, apparently, because the company still known for its significant contributions to photography and film, announced it is venturing into cryptocurrency territory with the launch of the cryptocurrency KODAKCoin and the image rights management platform KODAKOne, in partnership with WENN Digital.

"This initial Coin Offering is issued under SEC guidelines as a security token under Regulation 506 (c) as an exempt offering," Kodak said.

They missed out on digital photography in spite of being the inventor of it, they sure aren't going to miss out on digital currency!!! Lesson learnt!

By the way I predicted 3-4 years ago that retailers will come out with their own currencies. Amacoin, I am still waiting!! Those Amazon servers have huge downtimes when it is not Christmas season.

The pressure not to be left behind is great, but do not be fooled so easily, many of the emerging crypto currencies do not have the technology to back them up, they are coming to the market hastily and that is why many will stay on the road.
