Is this a good diagonal spread trade?

  2. The following table therein is IMO incomplete:

    incomplete-table.png

For example for "ShortPut + LongPut" one can create both Bullish and Bearish, depending on the strikes.
But the above table lists only the Bearish case (the 2nd from bottom).
IMO this table shows only half of the possible total combinations.

And: "Diagonal Calendar Spread" (see bottom of the above table, is IMO a misnomer :)
It should rather be named just "Diagonal Spread", as "Calendar Spread" (aka Horizontal Spread) and "Vertical Spread" are cousins of it... :)

  3. Here the result I get: Spot(SpotChg%): PL(PL%)
    Code:
          0.0000(-100.00%): PL=0.0200 ( 4.87% )

    Adjust you parentheses..

Too confusing the way you display it..

This is P and L at expiration??

  5. Man, what a silly Q!
PL of course means PnL, ie. the result for the spread trade for the given Spot value at expiration of the ShortPut (the leg with the shorter DTE), and closing the other leg (the LongPut).

Instead of closing the LongPut one can of course also "roll the expired option", ie. shortsell a new one and continue using the 2nd leg... See also this.

  7. The entertaining part is seeing just how dumb he's going to get each time around. It's like a drunk, loud, arrogant teenager who's pushed all the little kids off the swings and taken it over: right now, he's going "Wheeeee!" and swinging higher and higher while giggling like a loon... but sooner or later, there's that "aawwwwwSHIIIIIIIT!!!" moment - and then cops, ambulances, and maybe the county coroner show up.

If your sense of humor is as dark as mine, you get to take some degree of satisfaction from having told him not to do that - and having him mock and sneer at you in response. Usually happens right before things get interesting... :D

But yeah, back into the "ignore" dungeon he goes. He's not smart enough to be amusing for more than a few posts, and even that on a rare occasion.

    Overnight and taowave like this.
  8. Overnight

    Overnight

I used to do that to myself on the swing! Keep pushing myself harder and harder to go higher and higher, and then all of the sudden I'm starting to turn upside-down at the top of the arc, thinking "OMG what have I gotten myself into." After a few bruised landings I realized I should not do that any longer. :)

  9. A dumb idiot who even can't read a simple 2D table and says it's too complicated ("confusing")... :)
Many such nullingers here at ET... :)

I have these idiots in my ignore list, but this scum still hangs around here...

  10. So... how's that new gig as @earth_imperator's biographer going? Since he doesn't have any money to pay you with, I mean? :D

(Not that he's reached that realization stage yet. Obviously not. But everything up till that point, yeah...)
