is there a forum aimed at scalpng rather than "one stop shop"?

  1. The OP's opening post is a rant, criticism and attack on ET. What kind of help should he seriously be expecting?

Sure, ET can be a harsh place, but there are and have been many good people here over the years who will actually help you or give some sound advice, but nobody wants to be dealing with that kind of attitude.

I've seen this kind of attitude with other posters, too, clearly lacking in social skills and how the world generally works.

Maybe that's what happen when people just sit inside and look at their computer screen all day long. :)

You're missing the point though. My rant, which is in line with the OP, isn't about doling out "sage advices". Sure, I know they all give their suggestions based on good intentions. But they're also mostly directionless. They go from one topic to another. Even worse, they don't bother addressing the original question, which was "what forum can I go to meet other scalpers"? Instead, they debate among themselves about what scalping is.

And this ain't the first time I brought this up either. I've mentioned it countless times in the past to no avail. People just can't seem to stick to one topic. Anyway, enough said.

  3. Well, that may be true, but my point is that the OP would have much better chances at receiving any help if his original post had a different angle and attitude.

At the end of the day, this is simply a message board. If anyone is expecting to be handheld and mentored for free, maybe they're expecting too much.

I agree, it also sounds like OP is looking for a forum and members that are going to spoon-feed him a strategy and all the information that he wants.

As we all know it doesn't work that way, unless you are prepared to pay big money for top educators or courses.

This forum + YouTube has all the information one would need to learn how to trade, you just have to put in some effort and filter through the BS.

I wonder if he even tried to answer his own question by doing some research online or just came here and expected an answer that would solve all his problems right away.

Either put in hard work and a lot of hours or pay big money, there is no other way.

Take a look at Compass Trading Institutional banking with Ray; plenty of videos on YouTube. Trading is mostly on one minute or lower timeframe; you might find something that's useful. It's not a forum per say, but you might be able to get some ideas about statistical arbitrage and trading on 15 second charts as an example.

You should be very wary of expecting good advice in trading,
when the majority are not profitable in this business.

There are gems on knowledge in the section called Hall of Fame Threads

By my definition, you are day trading, not scalping. Proprietary traders and retired proprietary traders I know call scalping as trading using purely DOM or DOM+charting. You can start to look at traders who trade bond instruments because trading using DOM today requires thick order book. There is one ex-proprietary trader who offers free + paid course scalping bond instruments (trade using DOM) but I forgot his name.

dom trading is tuff and a grind will make you old fast - software didn't exist back then that can do that same work automatically. most professional traders get hung in a rut and don't move on with the times. never met a dom trader that could program, but man i knew some fantastic dom traders. my point is maybe dom edges have just taken a new form.

So true; one should come into any forum skeptical about getting good trading advice. If one has spent any amount of time on trading forums like forex factory or elite trader for that matter, I think that you quickly understand that you should take things said with a grain of salt . Knowing this if you still come to these forums looking for information that you know you probably won't get, then who's to blame for that.
