Hamas must be eliminated

  1. I am all for bombing Hamas into the stone age...but unless Israel wants to just say they feel Hamas lives on eveyr block, they are basically flattening the whole city... carpet bombing is not like the old days where you drop hundreds of bombs over Munich.... the missles are pinpoint accurace and you just need a few to take out this block from miles away sitting at a computer.

The world is not going to blame Hamas for Israel cutting off water, electricity, power and aid to the 1.5 million Palestinians who are not Hamas and firing rockets at buildings where civilians live. Does he U.S. blame Japan for the millions killed in Hiroshima...

Hamas has installed rocket launchers on nearly every corner in northern Gaza and is shooting missiles at Israel which are killing Israeli civilians from them. Hamas -- as demonstrated in the earlier article I posted -- has installed rocket launchers next to kindergartens, schools, mosques, and hospitals. Do you expect Israel not to destroy these rocket launchers which are bombarding Israel and killing civilians?

I notice when people claim that Israel is "carpet bombing" Gaza -- they all post the exact same photo you provided above as evidence. A single block does not imply all of Gaza City has been flattened. I do agree at this point that due to the Israeli ground offense started in the past 72 hours -- there are probably significant sections of Gaza City that have been destroyed -- noting that Hamas has been firing at Israeli troops from these buildings -- at this point it is an active combat war zone.

I do agree that Israel cutting off water, electricity, fuel and aid to Palestinian civilians in Gaza raises significant concerns about "collective punishment" according to international standards. It would have been better IMO for Israel not to take these actions to cut everything off.

    Water
Before October 7, Israel supplied the Gaza Strip with 18 million cubic meters (18 billion liters) of potable water a year through three water pipelines, some nine percent of the enclave’s annual use.

    Electricity and fuel
For Gaza’s electric supply, before the war, Israel provided 50 percent of the territory’s needs through ten electricity lines.

There were not millions killed at Hiroshima
I blame Japan for the war with US

In regards to water... Gaza had multiple desalination plants to provide water -- all of them paid for via the UN. The most recent came online in July fully operational. This plant was even stocked with a sixty day supply of backup fuel to power backup generators. However it was found that all the backup fuel was quickly stolen via graft & corruption -- and when the electricity went out the new plant stopped providing water.

So who is the governing body of Gaza which is responsible for stopping graft and corruption... and maintaining public services again? Oh, it is Hamas. The same entity that dug up the previous metal water pipes provided via the U.N. to use the material for rockets to shoot at Israel.

  5. Who is being punished with the cutoff of power, food, and aid? Hamas.....or the Palestinians...?

Israel was outraged by what happened, I just fear they are going scorched earth and tens of thousands of civilians are getting wiped out. What is the approach? I would have invaded a lot sooner and take over Gaza in 4 days and then force out Hamas and promise withdrawal and a State solution with its own government installed not a terrorists organization. I think world support would have been better though not amazing due to strong anti-Israel sentiment.

We all know Hamas is bad and entrenched in Gaza....but the approach by Israel is like cutting off an arm because a finger is broken.

  6. You really like to go literal and miss the point of numerous posts when it does not fit your narrative...millions did not die at Hiroshima so that makes it ok....

What the real world does not want to talk about is Israel has isolated and sectioned off Gaza for decades. Residents cannot leave or enter without permissions and the gates are closed often. You and I can go to another state if we need to get to a certain hospital but Palestinians cannot. We are not talking about Hamas or terrorists, we are talking about the civilian people who live in poverty because they do not get work permits or permissions to leave. The traffic at checkpoints is so bad that people dont bother leaving.

Anyone I know of who lives there or had to travel there said the people are treated like animals constantly so you wonder why so many get radicalized.

Israel does not distinguish between Hamas and Palestinians who do not support them. It is all one brown race. Hamas says all Jews should be killed so all Palestinians are lumped together with them.

  7. If I post pictures of numerous blocks will you suddenly say "oh you are right, they are destroying whole blocks of the city..."

Unfortunately, this is how it works and will have to be done just like was done in Germany, and other places, in WWII. There is no other way around it in this, WWIII

I stated that since Israel started the ground offense 72 hours ago there is probably a significant portion of Gaza City that has been destroyed because Hamas is shooting at Israelis from the buildings.

However, prior the ground offense, numerous pro-Palestinian pundits were claiming Israel was carpet bombing Gaza — all using the same picture as “evidence”. No, Israel never carpet bombed Gaza; they deliberately targeted rocket launchers and Hamas command centers. Sadly Hamas uses civilians as humans shields and fires rocket launchers next to residences, schools, mosques and hospitals so unfortunately civilians are hit.

Seeing that 1/3 of Hamas rockets fall short and land in Gaza -- it is likely that Hamas inflicted a majority of the Palestinian civilian casualties in Gaza -- including those at the hospital parking lot that was hit by an Hamas rocket.

  10. You raise a great point that if Israel is only supplying 10% of the water or so then the media is making it seem like they control all of it and the media is distorting the image. Also no news about Hamas taking the water pipes is not broadcast. You highlight the media making the situation worse which is why I really tuned out.
