I see SPX 3100 by EOY. We're <5% of the top for 2020. IMO. I do not think we break 3700 on a closing basis in 2020-2021.
Thanks for the updated forecast. Top end still seems pretty much in line. How about that revisit to 2600? That would be some serious volatility between now and election day.
I don't think anyone saw this coming. My biggest short was taken on Feb 21 and I was lucky to catch much of the COVID crash. No way we trade to 2600 this year. https://www.elitetrader.com/et/threads/election-theme.340755/
[ That's why your a "trading god", you getting tired of this dam smoke? I was hoping you and your family were free of this stupid pollution.
I've owned AMD from $51. I have no intention of selling it/shorting. I trade synthetic straddles with the position. Currently short the Sep 90 synthetic from 70-75 on the vol-line.
Both... and yeah I know. Lets see what happens at $87. After today's show, it'll probably blow right thru to $91. With that said, you can take this to the bank.... ....there's nothing new in the markets and this time is not any different. Fundamentals matter. Chips are commodities, nothing has changed. Better/faster chips have been around for the last 30 years at a minimum. Plenty of competition. But for now... it is what it is. In the end however, the books don't lie. Think Intel or TSM is laying down? No way. We'll see however.
I doubled my position when my youngest bought a gaming laptop with an AMD Ryzen CPU. Their top mobile CPUs are as fast (or faster) than INTC's fastest desktop offerings... and they are far more efficient than INTC's mobile chips. The story doesn't end with the CPUs as AMD is soon to rollout their new GPU offerings. They are literally two gens ahead of INTC here. The risk is that their GPUs don't stun the tech crowd, but it they do, then NVDA is going to drop 20% on day1. He just bought a second laptop for school. We installed Steam and ran CS:GO on it and checked the frame-rate. He's running 350FPS on CS:GO. From a $1500 laptop. He's got a $5K water-cooled gaming desktop that is overclocked (with a 1080ti for 1440 gaming) and it runs at 550FPS. He also has the Razer Blade Advanced with the top Intel CPU and a 2080 and the AMD rig beats the Razer by 50FPS. The Razer has a better discrete GPU as well. It's why the shares have nearly doubled this year.
