I watched the Book of Eli yesterday. You are like Gary Oldman at the end realizing that the Bible was written in Braille and he can't read it even though he finally got the book...
You have to be able to read Japanese. Also, you have to be part of his inner circle...tweets mostly just hard core gamers, poker (card games with money) and such. Its no longer like the past when he talked a lot about stock trades in a way to not inform others of his trades but in a way as if he's having a regular conversational. My point, you are not going to understand him, he has no website, he has no newsletter, no Youtube daily market update. Lets pretend you can read Japanese...he uses his twitter to talk about so much other stuff that you will not even notice when he's talking about specific trades. Thus, you will not even be able to try to mimic (copy) him and I believe that's what he wants...he now doesn't want people trying to mimic (copy) him.
I was not looking for specific trades, although seeing and thinking about his trades would be an unexpected plus for me. But I have found that it is a good idea- at least initially- to take a peek at what winners have to say / write. Sometimes a simple idea, a new way to look at things, good ideas reinforced, or simply that my ideas were not the best or even incorrect, is more than enough value. Of course approaching/evaluating things along the lines of the 5th Agreement is often best: "Be skeptical but learn to listen."
To do that...just check out the English speaking threads here at ET called "Hall of Fame" threads instead of trying to grasp a Japanese speaker at another location. https://www.elitetrader.com/et/pages/hall-of-fame/
Thanks for this suggestion! When I asked for Cis's Twitter feed I had not known or even considered that his Tweets would be in Japanese (lol at myself). Glad I started this thread because I scratched off one idea and was offered a better one. Thank you for the suggestion and the link. Edit: wow...reading through your suggested thread. Great resource. I should have been tipped off by the name "Hall of Fame" that this might be a good place to spend extra-time in.
The so called day trader that claims to have made $34M on a swing trade - accumulating a short with 1,600 short futures contracts starting on Aug 12th & covering some time around Aug 28th. Once he had a profit he layered in more size. Just a plain old swing/momo trade garden variety - except for the size of it - and the massive hype over it - this guy has a massive ego and has used the press before to blast his unproven claims. Like Japans version of Tim Sykes. The press that covered this says there is very little if any verification of his claims. Some of Japans real deal billionaire traders thinks he is a complete joke, saying things like does this masked trader own any real assets other than his hype?
Thanks. I like learning practical things and I also like the "stories"! Eventually there will be real survivorship bias fortunes made but also great second hand exaggerations and direct lying. Personally, I know two people who ran nothing into roughly 25 and 30 million acting wild; one at dice and one at trading. Both spent a small amount and lost the money back. I know you and wrbtrader are full of good knowledge and opinions, thanks.
On a more positive not about this trader which does sound credible to me - he did say he does not trade for money - he trades to win the game. He is a former computer gamer fanatic that has over 150 keyboard hotkeys memorized. I have heard other real big winners say the same, they don't think in terms of the $, they don't ever look at real-time P/L. They treat trading more like a game. I try to incorporate this into my trading - no P/L window open - all my number and thinking in terms of basis points over dollars, and more of a game mentality. Also look at pro gamblers - they have a lot of wisdom as well, some are now killing it running hedge funds.
I think CIS is bullsh*t . but he may be part of the .000001% that are gods of trading, end of the day its noise to make you all keep chasing.
