The S&P 500 is down how much...5% from its all-time high? This isn't a bear market (at least not yet) by any sane definition. You'd think the thread starter... a guy who's claimed to be an expert and been teaching classes, managing money, etc. since the 1990s would know this. But SPY has super= strong seasonals MAR, APR usually.And SPY looks a lot better than DAL sector LOL. QQQ looks better @ close than SQQQ He has some good % profits &uses of 200dma; Technical Analysis of Stocks & Co..... magazine, not that I would buy TSLA/single stock like he did. This early in the year, better to be early. Many shorts lose so much money on their short covering/surprise rate cuts, best be early.

Any statistical basis for this? Except for a few rare times in the 2008 financial crisis and dot-com crash, shorting when VIX hits a 1-year high isn't a good play. Usually you're already near the bottom and there's not much opportunity left.
