Because we have laws and due process which states cases must thoroughly investigated first and not made on a whim. On first glimpse, nothing seems reasonable. Welcome to the club... Low-effort thinking promotes political conservatism
"Now, as a result, the police fear to act, even more than they have feared to in the past. Many policemen only feel secure if they do almost nothing. Other authorities also fear to act, thinking riots may be ignited in other cities. Our government is paralyzed by fear. We no longer have control of our cities. U.S. citizens already have 200 million guns. As a result of future race riots, more guns will be sold. The people see that our government wonât protect themâand they donât trust God to protect them either!"
So basically they have nothing. Martin's mother and girlfriend. I guess they just didn't believe the other witnesses, you know, the ones who had no connection to martin, and who saw him on top of Zimmerman beating his brains out. Unfortunately, the atmosphere of intimidation may lead those witnesses to take the prudent course and convenietly forget what they saw. We already have seen the young boy's mother trying to do that. After all, snitches get stiches, at least under the Holder Justice Department. The fact that a newspaper has a leaked copy of the affidavit pretty much says it all about how professional this prosecution is and what this prosecutor's agenda is. It is totally political.
Perhaps you should read up on Stand Your Ground law and in what case it applies. If you are the aggravator, the law is not applicable. From the court filing, it seems the one who used the Stand Your Ground law was Mr. Martin. What a turn of events... whoopdedoo.
Affidavits are public records - as soon as it was filed in the courthouse it would be available to everyone. The prosecutors have discretion that allows them to turn over completed affidavits before they are filed to fulfill FOIA requests from the press. All the records (permissible under the law) that have been provided in this case so far came about due to FOIA requests (911 call records, initial police report, etc.).
The prosecutor and defense should be looking for any prior vid recordings (from family/friends) of Martin's voice to compare to the 911 screams. I'm thinking the voice is Zimmerman's in a panic, but there is a possibility of it being both mixed together if there was a struggle for the gun. The screams could be from either once the fight for the gun began. To Zimmerman, Martin would be a punk trying to get his gun. If Zimmerman never identified himself as a Neighborhood Watch, to Martin he would just be a guy with a gun who had been following him. The part about Zimmerman being jumped is hearsay, unless a witness account can verify it. Otherwise, all you have is 2 guys fighting over a gun, each one figuring the other will shoot him with it.
The whole premise revolves around Stand Your Ground law and if Mr. Zimmerman violated it. The cry for help is just icing on the cake.
