  1. Murder 2 seems like an over charge.

Harvard Prof. Alan Dershowitz: Zimmerman Arrest Affidavit ‘Irresponsible And Unethical’

Harvard University law professor Alan Dershowitz appeared on MSNBC’s Hardball where fill-in host Michel Smerconish asked him his opinions of the arrest warrant issued and carried out for alleged Trayvon Martin murderer, George Zimmerman. Dershowitz called the affidavit justifying Zimmerman’s arrest “not only thin, it’s irresponsible.” He went on to criticize the decision to charge Zimmerman for second degree murder by special prosecutor Angela Corey as being politically motivated.

  3. Zimmerman is innocent until proven guilty - despite what any media whores might want to imply.

It is an interesting detective-style case though.

The media has made Martin out to be some 12-year-old by the pictures they publish. They have cut together the 911 recording to make Zimmerman appear as if he was targeting blacks. That is all bullshit.

But neither is Zimmerman's side innocent of their own media campaign. Can't really blame them once Rev Al and others started to get involved.

But I'm not buying their story hook-line-and-sinker either. Zimmerman's father and brother just repeated what his son/brother told him. This is an "echo-chamber" attempt, hoping that if it is repeated enough people will buy it as fact, when facts instead require an objective eyewitness account.

Yes, there is an eyewitness account of Martin on top of Zimmerman, but the facts leading up to that are still unclear.

Was Martin reacting out of anger, his own perception of self-defense, or a combination?

Did Zimmerman identify himself as Neighborhood Watch during any time? A marking on his car? A labeled jacket or armband? Verbally (Martin's phone call to his girlfriend just before the altercation where the 1st exchange is allegedly overheard)?

Everything out of Zimmerman's mouth must be viewed as tainted by anyone looking at it objectively. The lawyers already know that.

I seriously doubt Martin was an angelic teenager (his school suspensions prove that), but neither was he ever convicted of criminal behavior. His school suspensions do not include violence afaik.

Second degree murder seems a bit far-fetched to charge Zimmerman with though.

Unless the prosecutor has found some new witness the affidavit is in conflict with the information that is already out there. I have to agree with Dershowitz and conclude this was a political move by the prosecutor. Possibly done at the request of officials to placate the racists like Al Sharpton.

“This affidavit does not even make it to probable cause,” Dershowitz concluded. “everything in the affidavit is completely consistent with a defense of self-defense. Everything.”

In fact, Zimmerman is going to have a pretty good case to sue the State of Florida for bringing frivolous charges after he is acquitted or the case is dismissed.

  6. This is why professors to stick to preaching books. I made my prior comment after watching his lunacy. There are checks and balance in place to insure proper due process. The judge signing off in probable cause and moving forward the case is a slap in the face to his assessment of probable cause. Remember, affidavit only has to provide the judge with probable cause and nothing more.

He is also going to get slapped in the face again after bail get denied officially by a judge.

  7. You are the essential poster boy for all the conservative clowns out here. They only know how to articulate information with a gun pointed at ones head, but you took it a step further.

Threatening my life is 'probably' against the forum rules. Complaint has been send to the administrators.

  10. ROTFLMAO!!! :p I was pointing out how you shot yourself in the foot (see below).
Since you're so fucking dense, people are INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY in the United States.

You put the icing on the cake by following your brain fart with "low-effort thinking promotes political conservatism" when in fact YOU, the liberal, were guilty of what you were trying to smear conservatives with. Get it now, dumbass?
