ZG or GC - Which one has more volume/liquid?

Discussion in 'Commodity Futures' started by hanzahar, Aug 16, 2008.

  1. I've been looking into metal futures recently and I found both of this contracts...

    which is the benchmark contract?

which one has more volume, why does one prefer over another?

    both are 100oz and $10 a tick:confused:

  2. a few yrs ago ZG would have been the better choice for screen trading

now GC is far and away the king of the metals

by the way ... YG is a good choice for getting your feet wet in futures trading during daytime USA hours

as it us 1/3 the size of GC +ZG

or one can trade 100 shares of GLD ( ETF)

if you have an account that fits the pattern daytrader rules
and wish to lower your risk further while you refine your
trading style to suit these volatile conditions we are seeing

    good luck to you

ps you are correct ... both are 100 OZ and $10 a tick )
