If I'm 5 years old then your 4 years old.

    You state:

"if I have done my job correctly, honed my system and know it backwards and think in probabilities then I also know what the next 100 trades will bring... "

This where your logic is flawed.

You still will not know what the market will do, your probabilities are only a representation of history NOT the future.

A true profession understands that the market is dynamic and in constant flux and has the skills to adapt and change as it happens.Your only being fooled by randomness ...

Put that in your pipe and smoke it for awhile.

  2. The fact that you are attacking me reveals your insecurity and that you dont really understand probability... as for the pipe reference... it is so old and hokey I actually feel embarrassed for you

  4. I cant take you seriously, you thought I called you 5 years old because I used a well worn expression for keeping an explanation simple... it has been my experience that anyone that hypersensitive has serious self esteem and confidence issues... so I think I'll leave you to wait for another 7 year cycle... I'm making money now!

Uhmmmm excuse me but it's you that is being hypersensitive.

You have still not addressed my argument that your being fooled by Randomness by basing probabilities on "past" events !!!

Trading is NOT like Blackjack (that has a fixed set of parameters) and therefor, there is NO SUCH THING as trading probabilities.

If you want to discuss this like grown adults then let's but if your going to act like a crack head and defend a position without supportive logic then this conversation is useless.

  6. Discuss like a grown adult? you mean like when you said "If I'm 5 years old then your 4 years old"? Gee not sure I can match your maturity :)

If you trust your edge, then of course you think in terms of probability, in fact books like "Trading in the Zone" highlight it as the key characteristic of the professional trader... you sound like a trader making excuses for losing constantly, you dont have an edge so it is easier to believe the market is against you

  7. Anyway, leaving the random Jesus theory behind for a moment, meditation becomes more powerful when you have a definite focus, visualizing winning trades is a good place to start, and for those who dont believe they create their own reality you can tell yourself that the exercise helps you select high probability trades

Your basing a trading career and logic on Mark Douglas ????

Sheesh trying to help some of you guys is like trying to help alcholics.

I'm not one to name drop or boast about whom I've worked with or my accomplishments but I assure I've worked and traded with some of the best hedge fund managers in the business.

Mark Douglas and 99% of the vendors out there that sell you guys this sh$t are just feeding you delusions.

Seriously, let's talk in another 7 years ok.

Till then try and keep an open mind and you might just learn a thing or two.

  9. Oh for gods sake you again?... firstly I base my trading career on my own method I developed and the edge it gives me, secondly Mark Douglas is a great guy and isn't whining about the market after 25 years of losing to it like you... and if you really are as old as you say then I dont think you have another 7 years in you

And once and for all if you allow emotions into the equation as you said you do then you are nothing but an amatuer, meditation and trading are acts of discipline, if you cant control your emotions then you are a perennial loser... but I guess someone needs to be on the other side of my contracts :)

  10. Joab, with all due respect you are hijacking this thread and taking it very much off course. It seems you came here just looking for a fight. Could you move on and let the thread progress?
