Depending on broker there can be a difference in levels of the zenfire feed used. This was covered in a thread at big mikes trading forum named - "Analysis and comparison on different data Feeds and Platforms"

I am curious to see how reliable oec data and connectivity has been for the last 6 months? Zenfire feed is overpriced imo but it is much better than tt fix feed from reliability standpoint. I would never use tt fix with ninjatrader7, tried that for a few days and it was right back to overpriced zenfire for me.

Another question for oec users, can the oec platform accept other feeds for running charts and the oec feed only for order routing?

I have read brownsfan posts at TL and I think he is a good guy, glad to see his input here at elite.

  2. You have to admit that branding Rithmic data, "Zen Fire" was at least initially smart. Got lots of traders to think they were getting something special. Now that marketing move is unwinding. Why anyone would pay for data in 2010 is beyond me. Everyone focus on low commission rates but ignore the inflated cost to run Zen Fire. There are plenty of brokers out there that data does not cost you a dime. Oh I forgot retail traders' eyeballs need to see the 400 updates per second on the price ladder. Foolish - LOL.

I use Rithmic directly, but for those that use their white-label, why are the commissions higher? Many FX guys give their platforms as white label but I find the commissions (spreads) to be the same. When it comes to data, is that a different story?

  4. I don't get it either. I'm paying $4.4 RT using Zenfire. How much cheaper is Rhythmic? I just haven't seen it. If it is cheaper somewhere at a respectable broker, I'm all ears.

  6. Thanks. Is that with Ninja Trader? Perhaps I'm mistaken, but I think NT is an extra $ at some places.

  9. I don't understand all this talk about the cost of the zenfire data feed. I pay a ninjatrader platform fee that I would pay no matter what data feed I use and all the zenfire data is free which includes a pretty deep historical data backfill that zenfire provides via ninjatrader. How could it be cheaper?

If your are talking about the cost to the broker, then lets get it out in the open. What do brokers pay for zenfire and what do brokers pay for rithmic.

There is a round turn fee that is passed through in your commisions for zenfire routed trades from your broker. I think the fee is around fifty cents per turn so very high cost.
