UDay #3 - Slept okay, but woke up still tired so slept a bit more until I was refreshed. This has really been a nutz week for me personally, and so with lot on my plate, I have had to really pay attention to my mental capital. Still have to catch up on the posts here, but will do that tonight.

Went into the day, a bit discouraged and really just trying to focus on trusting my system. On trading what I knew to do. Overall I was seeing the setups well, but had trouble hanging onto trades. The first couple of hours was pretty wild, up down, up down. I am seeing a reoccurring pattern in my trades, which is that I often will be up 10 or 15 ticks, and then give that back and then some... which is fine, as long as I consistently trade the same all the time. It is just frustrating as heck to give back profit... maybe that is something I need to work on myself.

Today was definitely not one of my finest days trading. Traded down close to my loss limit, then back up a bit, then put on a classic setup trade and patiently managed it to a profit target of 24 ticks only to see it rally another 100 ticks which would have seen my second profit target hit had I been trading multiples. (Yea, that is frustrating... but that is trading.)

Without a doubt there are two things I need to work one:
    1) I need to have more faith in my analysis that is done before the trade is put on. After the trade is on, it is hard to keep the faith. The neutral me seems to not want to stick around.

    2) I need to do some research on whether or not my system will successfully let me build the account up using the same methodology, but going for smaller gains earlier in the trading session.

On a more positive note, it felt like the jitters were gone and I was starting to just trade. Heading out now to recharge, and then will catch up on my journal. Thanks everyone for your support!

    RN,
Was you entry at TL or a breakout? Seeing the highs on 4/14 and 4/15 make me think hard resistance ?

After reviewing todays FB Price Action, it would had been atypical to come out ahead. The sob spent the day trapped between Pivot and S1, it was near impossible to let a winner run with the intraday signals, very nasty PA.

I traded something similar, Nasdaq, but at least the signals were reaching Previous Close, FB, not even that.

What's important is that you get to trade another day :)

I use CPAP breathing machine, seems to help lately more, figured out humidity with new machine, I wake up very refreshed, you ever been tested, do you snore?
Do you play chess? Somewhere along way I got into speed chess, very fast way of playing, it is memorizing tens of thousands of pieces and location and have an answer, that is what trading is, something happens and you know exactly the next move. Need to know the stats.

I like this "2) I need to do some research", I spend a good eight hours over the weekend tweaking or maybe completely new idea of entry/exit. Build up account some and then trade two lots, get that short target for all the times it offered on days where you can't nail longer profits as they cycle, you get bigger profits in bunches then nothing.

I stopped playing the "could da, would da, should da" long ago, doesn't do anything positive.

You had good day, watch it on Fridays, does it say you have rough times on Fridays?

1.) Yes Sir - tried some of each

2.) Did make / respect resistance on the 14 / 15 - but there is also the overall as well (last 2 bars were made today

First trade was a B/O - that broke down

Next was a short that got me a little ahead

Next were a series of - try this - nope..., try that..., nope... try this again - nope... back to that..., nope

All signals were valid - just no follow through

Try smaller gains overall - not just in the earlier part

Later in a session - larger moves get harder to come by - typically

Always KISS..., and always strive to make easier

Shit is inherently hard enough already

I primarily trade before I go to work (6:00 am oil pit opens and until about 9:00 am). I will occasionally take a trade from my work office, but my rules demand that I can be focused. (Business owner, so I have some flexibility there)

Only trade crude. Only trade combine, and from about the beginning of this year I haven't traded my own personal account.

Thanks @Handle123 I will look at this over the weekend. But my initial thoughts are, "yes, I need to do exactly that." Sure appreciate the help.
Hope you are feeling better! Victoria Starbucks is waiting for us...
