Of course, I've subscribe to many that I prefer. But I immediately unsubscribe to any new ones who send a ridiculous amount of links. As for YouTube and what they recommend based on my data, IMO it leaves a a lot to be desired. I find, on my own, what I want.

  2. I turn a few wrenches, but by now I just take it to the specialists here. I'd rather pay to know it's done completely correctly and it's a better use of my time to defer it. that said I still find little shit to upgrade & mess with here and there. we have the same motor (N55)... amazing engine. the newer one in all the G-series cars (B58) is even better still. I was hesitant about a forced induction motor over long term ownership but the data for these doesn't lie.

I'm going to do KW EDC coilovers to replace these tired stock dampers, already did new tires all around, replaced the trash HiFi amp with an Audiotec-Fisher unit, and speakers will come along with the coilovers. and sway bars. my recent nerding-out is regarding soundproofing the car. it's very reasonably quiet, but I want to hear nothing in here since I commute a lot. I've added Second Skin to my mods list for this. really interesting stuff to delve into. Did you know one of the Rolls Royce Phantom models was so quiet they couldn't hear emergency sirens and had to add sound back into the car? it's stuff like this I never thought I'd be into at only age 39 LMAO.

I remember having to decide whether to upgrade to the next gen BMW which had the newer (N56?) or doing something else. Went with the Lexus RX350 F-Sport. I know it's not a performance car but it is world class in reliability. I'm gonna test to see if it's true it will go 200k miles with only basic maintenance.

It looks like the world is moving to EVs so having a silent engine with piped back sound is going to be the norm. Right now Tesla are incredible tech machines but they haven't yet hit that luxury high note yet ie interiors.

  4. It's not my problem. It's on their end. By design they steer you towards promoted content and things that they think will keep you "engaged" rather than what you actually searched for.

The difference is that I know how good Google USED to be 20 years ago. It is a steaming pile of dog crap compared to it's previous level of usefulness.
If you have to choose between today's google and nothing, it's better than nothing, but at this point it's more of a finely tuned marketing tool.

If you don't believe the rich and powerful conspire, you're either a fool not to know that or a coward to be too afraid to admit it. Crack open a history book, or maybe just read the latest news about twitter.

My point is that there have been, and many times still are better online sources. The world would be a better place without the Google/Youtube monopoly. Youtube didn't create this content, they just systematically acquired or destroyed nearly everywhere else to host it.
If you look a podcasting, there seems to be lots of competing platforms, but for video it's effectively youtube, or you've been virtually silenced.

Wow my friend, you are quite the doom/gloom. I can only imagine how wonderful it must be the utopia that you want to live in. This must be what the crypto bros were dreaming of when they said their world would be paradise, freed from the tyranny of centralized banks by using their decentralized crypto utopia. Yet it turned out the crypto bros were wayyyy worse than we could all imagine.

My rule now is when people start to espouse utopia, I stay away.

    Not seeing trading mentioned....

Again, I have nothing against the guy, just trying to figure out why something about him was posted in this forum?

The context is about FTX crypto debacle and the back and forth between people who supported and who didn't. In this case, it's more about YouTube influencers taking ad money from FTX and whether or not they should be held accountable for the ensuing mess. Similar to the sports star who took the easy money.

  10. That's insane. I mean, holding some guy accountable for someone else's fraud when all he did was make youtube videos about it is insane.
