YouTube Cofounder Steve Chen Launches Hedge Fund That Uses AI To Make Investment Decisions

  1. The average person is clueless of what is involved in machine learning as both this thread and this headline shows.

I imagine the story even has nothing to do with reality as journalist don't know what they are talking about when it comes to machine learning.

We have a giant problem in our society that the average person's education on machine learning has come from the Terminator, Ex Machina, I Robot. A real machine learning movie would be as interesting as Andy Warhol's Sleep.

I just don't know how a thinking person could not educate themselves on machine learning in 2021.

The conversation is just so ridiculously bad.

There are children's machine learning books but they are in Mandarin. At this point I imagine there are millions of Chinese children that have a better understanding of machine learning than 99% of US adults and 99.9999% of US children. That is an unimaginably bad problem if you fast forward 30-40 years.
