How many people won't get the vaccine because they've actually had COVID? And they supposedly won't be allowed to travel? What does that say about the vaccine policy and government's intent?

    This is not rocket science...

The pass would be stored on a smartphone and display proof that a person has been vaccinated or has recently received a negative COVID-19 test.

I wouldn't be surprised if airports will be offering Rapid Covid Tests (for a fee) to those that do not have a vaccination passport and need a rapid covid test prior to Departure or prior to being allowed to enter the "Departure Gate" for those that waited to the last minute or have emergency travel.

  3. I believe some airports already offer rapid covid tests from free all the way up to expensive. Thought I heard a freind flying out of London had to do a rapid covid test at the airport for 100 Pounds or something like that.

I will note that most other countries will require a PCR (not rapid) COVID test done within 3 days of your flight to travel to them. A rapid test at the airport for international travel will not cut it.

This is why Clear will be offering both a PCR test validation (already being done for Hawaii and elsewhere) and a Vaccination validation. One or the other will be required for most international travel.

Europe stated that vaccinated Americans can start traveling to Europe in June (but will not be accepting PCR tests for unvaccinated travel).

  7. Constitution cannot require anything such as vaccine passports... wtf?

Since most businesses are private, they can do what they want but the government will have a tough time mandating this nationwide.

Proof of COVID vaccination for eating out — or flying? What Americans say in new poll
    https://www.newsobserver.com/news/coronavirus/article251233194.html

A majority of Americans in a new poll said they support requiring proof of COVID-19 vaccination — but only for some activities.

Fifty-seven percent of respondents said in a Gallup poll released Friday that they would approve of vaccine passports as a requirement for airplane travel while 55% favored passports before someone could attend events with large crowds such as sporting events and concerts. There was less support for requiring vaccination passports for going to work (45%), staying at a hotel (44%) and dining at a restaurant indoors (40%).

The use of vaccine passports to prove inoculation against the coronavirus has become a controversial topic, and the governors of some states, including Arizona, Florida and Texas, have issued executive orders barring the use of vaccine passports.

But Lawrence Gostin, director of the O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law at Georgetown University, told NBC News that “governors have no power to prohibit cities or counties from issuing passports or banning the private sector.”

Opinions about vaccine passports varied based on a person’s vaccination status. For instance, 74% of Americans who have been or plan to be vaccinated said in the survey that they favor using passports for airplane travel while 8% of people who won’t be vaccinated said the same.

People who are “not too” or “not at all” worried about COVID-19 were less likely to support vaccine passports, with no more than 49% saying they would support proof of vaccination for any of the five activities. Meanwhile, between 55% to 77% of people who are “somewhat” or “very worried” about COVID-19 said they favor vaccine passports for all activities they were asked about.

Responses were also partisan. Majorities of Democrats said they support using vaccine passports for all the activities listed while no more than 28% of Republicans said they favor requiring people to prove vaccination.

The Biden administration said in March that it wouldn’t build a national vaccination app, but that doesn’t mean private companies won’t create digital passports for COVID-19 vaccinations.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Thursday that around 149.5 million people in the U.S., comprising 45% of the country’s total population, have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, including around 108.9 million who have been fully vaccinated.

The Gallup survey was conducted April 19-25 with a sample size of 3,731 adults and a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points.

  9. Americans and Nigerians are pretty crafty and "inventive."

A year ago you could not find masks for sale locally anywhere. Sold out long ago.

Now, if you forget your mask at the grocery store they just give you an el cheapo mask on the house.

Seems to be evolving with vaccine certificates too. Don't have one? Not a prob. I got one right here with your name on it."

    It's all good.

Oh, and some of that vaccine making the rounds in the world these days is not real either. And that game has not even remotely begun. Fake vaccine is a major growth industry. And let's just say that China will be the leader that they are always are in such endeavors.

Authorities: Fake vaccination cards sold at California bar
Authorities say they have arrested the owner of a Northern California bar where made-to-order fake COVID-19 vaccination cards were being sold to undercover state agents for $20 each

  10. You can travel if you have the covid negative report of three days prior. If not , they will conduct a PCR test then and there, and the cost of the test might be high depending upon where you are and what they are charging . If you had covid, you might have to wait for at least a month to get the vaccine becaue that is what the policy is keeping your health at the most priority. And please don't travel if you haven't got tested negative for covid, you might affect others also if by any chance you had the virus.
