Don't know, perhaps it is the motivation to survive and to fight for a better tomorrow.

My cleaning lady and her husband (from Central America, uneducated), clean houses 10-12 hrs a day 6 days a week. They earned enough to own their own home, drive a late model car. My handyman came from Asia as a refugee 10 years ago, didn't even finish high school back home, still speaks limited English, he and wife work as a team, work 7 days a week, no breaks, and already owns a remodeling business and owns a home. Daughter is graduating from college.

I am sure there are plenty of immigrants in LA that day in day out struggle to survive, to get out of poverty. Give them a chance to work, even for peanuts, few would refuse because compare to where they came from it is infinitely better and they all have hopes that life can get better.

  2. I'm not talking about the ability of immigrants to succeed, I'm talking about the social prohibition against acknowledging general traits that certain populations exhibit that seem to exist despite any external, and without any internal, influence. Intelligence and morality being two big things it is nearly illegal to accuse groups of people to lack, even if statistics obviously indicate the lack.

  3. So, yes some made it from low-income class to middle class. Many others, however, did not make that jump and never will be. Guess who goes to community college today, not just first generation immigrants, also plenty 2nd generation ones.

Nothing keeps a legal immigrant from seeking work. How is it even possible that immigrants are allowed into and in the country without a job while supposedly their visa status is tied to them holding a job until they obtain permanent residence?

  5. because it suits their strategy and aligns with their pockets. Extreme liberal democrats can only win if they hand out enough presents and appease every perceivable sexual orientation, skin color, and economic background. As long as those people can tell the rest of the country that every race has the same work ethics (even when they don't have), that each race is equally talented (which they are not, as scientifically proven) then it must logically flow that pursuing equal outcomes is only fair. That is a rhetoric that gets the votes of those who struggle.

I prefer not to go there. No one wins in this debate.

The score itself does not treat a successful black family different from a successful white family. If everything to you is about race, then that is your problem.

There are many communities that will have you. Go join one of them and you can speak freely. Some people in those communities might stab you in the neck for fun. But you take the good with the bad.

  10. You and the other guy are so obviously looking for validation of your thesis which is that black people are inherently dumber than white people. Whether that's true or not, whether their experience in general leads them to have a different sort of intelligence than American whites is not what you're after.
