I think it would be extremely difficult to create a platform to replace what the brokers or software vendors already supply. How would you fund the development, marketing and future support costs? Plus maintaining such a system would be a large ongoing effort due to constantly changing regulations, new security types (such as crypto), etc. I believe your best bet would be a system that could work in conjunction with existing platforms to supply features that current platforms do not support.
- Blue is market profile/volume profile - Candle in blue, indicates how many buy side hit and offers takes - Black horizontal line is longer term high low demarked - Bottom candles are lower timeframes (plus indicators can be overlayed on bottom candles)
my dream trading platform is just being able to sit in a jacuzzi and monitor market in a totally relaxed state.
My dream trading platform resembles a slot machine - when you exit a winner the lights & bells go crazy and your cash is clunked out in silver dollars, on a big one you get your bucket ready to catch the overflow!
I haven't written thinkscript in years. Your post compelled me to do some google searches on thinkscript. Found a great resource on github that I haven't seen before. https://github.com/jshingler/TOS-an...aster/TOS & ThinkScript Snippet Collection.md
Thinkscript is more geared towards graphical charting and plotting data but it really lacks in trading system-programming I find due to its severe lack of looping and control structures and the extremely limited conditional statements in that you are only able to program buy/sell instructions with very simple conditions. It's really a shame.
This is my homemade dream platform. It's a 180 day charting system with free data from EOD and Yahoo. The software charts , screens, and sorts 5000 stock and 1000 options. Screens by fundamental first then second by technical RSI,Stochastic, Open/Close Spread, and Volatility. It is in a constant back test mode. With a Left click of the mouse on the chart you can go back up to 40 days and instantly pull up RSI and Stochastic Data on stocks and sort them out to a list and chart them. With right click on chart days forward you check for gain or loss on multiple charts on one time. Number of charts on one screen ranges from 1 to 200. It has an option chain symbol generator which can generate an option chain on any stock for any month and write it to file
