  1. This thread is for members to post their current best short-term trading idea.

Your thesis or a potential catalyst. (preferably at least a few sentences).

Interested purely in short-term ideas. (hours and days preferably, weeks at most)

Don't worry about posing an exit, or even the entry price. The posts get timestamped so we know roughly where it was when you hit submit. (If you want to give the price and tell us where you'd exit or when i mean feel free, but please don't feel obligated)

Everyone understands everyone's got a different risk/reward tolerance and markets/conditions change quickly. We all get that.

So please, talk your book (that's the assumption for these ideas), but give us your single best trading idea, not the dog your holding onto, if it's persuasive maybe we help move it in your direction. :)

    Examples:

-Fortnite's been big recently and I missed the fact that $HEAR (Turtle Beach) makes many of the headphones for gamers and would be a huge beneficiary. The trade's been there for 2-3 weeks I just didn't follow that space closely and connect the dots enough. Someone here surely did based on the move recently and after hours today.

-Some analyst just upgraded $XYZ, but here's what I think he's missing, because it's competitor just announced _____________ and yada yada.

-$SQ Square just reported earnings, gapped down, survived a Citron twitter attack and has outperformed the last few days. Yesterday they announced an interesting software offering for restaurants seemed to surprise some analysts. Citi was negative about it but again the stock went up further.

The crypto premium's also gotten squeezed out of a bit IMO which sets up nicely because Dorsey is a speaker at Consensus next week and it might pop a little on the coverage if the crypto space heats up, due to square's ( minimal thus-far) exposure to bitcoin through its cash app.

Stuff like that. If your wrong, nobody cares. Just looking for ideas. YOUR BEST ONE's. Specific Stocks, not "SPY LONG or "I like the bonds here".

Basically, I'm hoping this thread is a running list of no frills ideas that members can contribute to if they like. Short-term ideas you like that exposes other members to a potential trade.

Again, just looking for ideas, catalysts, an interesting thesis, zero interest having people get called out for trades that didn't work seem to work out. Trading's difficult, were all doing the best we can.

So what's your best current trading idea? Please share.

    Cheers.

  6. Twitter's my favorite idea here into the weekend on earlier reports that Facebook might create their own coin.

This seems to be where things are headed with lots of companies doing something in the space the next few years (Amazon, Starbucks, etc). IMO Dorsey will get questions not just about how blockchain relates to Square but also how it might be used by Twitter as a way to potentially compensate contributors and curators.

Aside from that, I think the stock will likely run up into the start of the world cup in early June taking out the 52 week high in the process. (The world cup starts in 33 days)

I expect they will likely do a little something to punch up the UI ahead of that. (end to end encryption and quoting in gif's the two features that have been rumored to be near launch in recent days)

The largest catalyst ahead for them I would think is still some sort of expanded verification (blue checkmark). If they launch something there, the stock could add 5-10% in just 2-3 days but I have no time table for that.

    (TWTR 's 33.03 here fwiw. 52 week high 36.80)

  7. "WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday paved the way for states to legalize sports betting in a defeat for the major American sports leagues, endorsing New Jersey's bid to allow such wagering and striking down a 1992 federal law that prohibited it in most places.

The court upheld the legality of a 2014 state law permitting sports betting at New Jersey casinos and horse racetracks and voided the federal Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act. Some states see sports betting, like lotteries, as a potentially important source of tax revenue.

The ruling takes the United States a step closer to legal sports betting in numerous states, perhaps nationwide, rather than just in select places such as Nevada, home to the gambling capital Las Vegas. The current illegal sports betting market is worth billions of dollars annually.

The justices struck down the entire federal law on a 6-3 vote.

"The legalization of sports gambling requires an important policy choice, but the choice is not ours to make. Congress can regulate sports gambling directly, but if it elects not to do so, each state is free to act on its own," Justice Samuel Alito wrote on behalf of the court.

Industry analysts have said that dozens of states might legalize sports betting if they are not barred from doing so by the federal law."

The casino stocks, of course, ripped off the headlines but I like DIS as a slow-moving stealth benefactor here to see some money flow into it. Makes ESPN and there digital properties a little more valuable if states start to legalize sports betting. (they have been a drag). Disney's 102.84. Because it's such a large capt stock that's been very stable, Buying calls short-term and selling puts more intermediate term my preferred way to play this thesis.
