Youngtrader's Commodity Journal

Discussion in 'Journals' started by youngtrader, Jul 27, 2007.

  1. I broker with openecry on most of the little stuff but anything complex (options, intermarket spreads, etc) I use a small full service broker based out of Minneapolis. To be honest I have no idea how much money I have made since posting the journal (forgot to keep track and am now way too far behind to tally it all up) but I will tell you my account is currently around $60,000 as of today.

  2. I'll let you know about those spreads tomorrow, see anything interesting in currencies? I think EUR is shortable, same with yen but that open today was strange.

  5. I thought it was weird because we opened at 105.10 then had an immediate rally back to the levels we closed at on Friday. Maybe there was a news item I overlooked? Unless that's the case that open through me off. What did you think about it?

  8. I think AUD is looking bullish and Yen bearish. In about 13 minutes there is AUD reserve bank rate decision so we'll see how that plays.

Cargill has been messing with those meal spreads, apparently they are just shaking up their positions. Also being old crop/new crop the margin on them is real high, about 4-5k for 1 contract.
