I don't want the flowers and trading books as you promised. But I would appreciate the tickets for my family to DisneyWorld. An online transaction would be acceptable as well. Thanks.
Yep. I see no reason to modify that statement. I will however add that I do believe it to be possible to find more than one hundred insignificant black rappers, which do not have any significant marketshare in the rap genre, that have racist lyrics.
Kanye West? It may not be explicitly racist, like **** you, you white mother**** (though a very popular group in the early 90s, NWA, had lines like that in their songs), but he's representative of the whole "white men are evil, keeping us down" mindset. Aside from the fact that blame whitey rhetoric is intellectually bankrupt, incredibly, people like him actually believe they are helping race relations. Earlier in this thread you spoke sarcastically about this turning into a "blacks are more racist than whites" thread. But why the sarcasm? Do you doubt that the biggest obstacle to improved race relations are blacks, not whites? Well, I'd have to qualify that. Idiot liberals have taught blacks that whites are incurably racist and to see racism in every nook and cranny, so I suppose it's not really their fault that they have taken whites at their word. And, of course, since blacks continue to lag behind whites, and since it's human nature to lay the blame on your own failings on someone else, "racism" is an all too easy excuse for blacks to succumb to. Ultimately, though, I put the blame on blacks, because they don't even need white liberals making the "racism" excuse for them anymore; their own black leaders have taken on the role of spewing anti-white garbage for eager audiences to lap up. (Of course, smart, educated blacks with real jobs - not politicians, AA activists or "diversity consultants" - see through all this crap. It's them that my heart really goes out to, as they have to deal with both backlash from moderate whites who are sick and tired of all the racial crap, and from blacks who see them as "traitors".)
I like Kanye Wests music, but from the songs I've heard I've never discovered anything racist about them. Do you have any examples to back up your claim that he's got that "white men are evil, keeping us down" mindset? I of course agree with you that "blame whitey" rhetoric is intellectually bankrupt. I questioned why this thread was derailed from the original post by Z*10, and I don't think anyone has answered that question seriously. I do indeed question the motives when the focus is taken off the two racist girls. I find it quite incredible that you ask me if I doubt that black people is a bigger obstacle than white people to improved race relations, as your statement implies there's no doubt about that. I'm at a loss as to why you would think so, but then again I do not live in the US and shall not claim to be familiar enough with the situation to say either way. I do however find it very hard to believe. And even generalising an issue as race relations into "who's the bigger obstacle" is surprisingly simplistic. I do believe you have a more advanced analysis of the whole complex. I agree that it probably is very easy to cry "racism!" in the US. However, I'm sure that in US as in any of the countries in Western Europe there is a lot of everyday racism. You did see the recent poll in France where 1/3 of the population agreed that they were "somewhat" racist? Of course US has a more recent history of segregation, and in Europe it's further back in time. But. You cannot generalise and say that every black man is a racist because there are leaders that (for personal gain) are making insane cries of racism. Your reasoning for "putting the blame on blacks" is not very sophisticated in my opinion (no offense meant). I agree with your final paragraph.
