  1. You may actually have something there, not the way you think though. The rights idiotolgy (is that a real word ;). That would explain the religious like following of the right of the pied piper righty preachers, the origional El Rusbo, Hannity, and the new kid on the block Beck. The faux Christians, which MOST Americans are, the faux conservatives, which MOST Republicans are, belong to the the faux Christian/conservative group to support their idiotolgy. What do you think?
You didn't answer what specific god you believe in, which one is your chosen god?

Ah right, so the religious argument actually is.... "I have no idea , so I'll pretend something called God exists and hate everything and everyone who doesn't like what I think or say about it."

I knew it had nothing to do with wisdom . Thanks for the clarification.

  4. I happen to believe in God, you evidently do not.

It does appear you are a major crusader in this regard on this board and it is YOU who seem full of animosity , hate and vitriol on the subject.

"Psychological support key to battling cancer
The Jakarta Post, Jakarta | Sat, 02/05/2011 12:48 PM

People diagnosed with cancer would do good to treat their fear, panic and even embarrassment at having the disease, as stress hormones make it easier for cancer cells to grow and spread, an oncologist said.

Samuel J. Haryono, an oncologist from Dharmais Cancer Hospital, said that stress can hamper cancer therapy.

“Stress can negatively impact the effectiveness of medical therapy for years,” Samuel said at a gathering for current and former cancer patients at the Cancer Information and Support Center (CISC) on Friday, as quoted by kompas.com.

Cancer remains a deadly disease, with a mortality rate exceeding that of malaria, AIDS and tuberculosis combined.

The number of people succumbing to cancer every year equals the population of Switzerland, and two-thirds of all cancer cases occur in developing countries.

But, research has shown that a third of cancer deaths can be avoided through preventive measures, and another third can be avoided through early detection and proper medical treatment.

A healthy lifestyle is one of the best ways to prevent the deadly illness.

Stress, resulting from excessive frustration, fear and embarrassment, can impact a patient as cancer cells may develop and spread.

“We should help people with cancer to manage their stress by providing continuous support. It would be better for them to join a support group,” Samuel said.

By joining a support group, cancer patients will obtain psychological benefits they direly need to accelerate their treatment.

“In such communities, people with cancer can be more open in discussing their disease. They learn to accept life wholeheartedly because they know they are not alone,” Samuel said.

Studies have shown that stress hormones like adrenaline can directly contribute to the growth and spread of tumors and cancer.

It is important for the patient to manage their stress with cognitive behavioral therapy, which is also useful for medical workers.

Each year, 12.7 million people are diagnosed with cancer and 7.6 million die of the disease.

The World Health Organization (WHO) said that if no action is taken, cancer’s global mortality rate will increase by 80 percent in 2030, especially in poor and developing countries.

On 2011’s World Cancer Day, annually commemorated on Feb. 4, the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) will ask people to sign a road map on early measures to reduce cancer globally by 2020.

UICC developed the theme “Sun Smart” for this year, with a focus on skin cancer. Sunlight can cause cancer like cigarettes, alcohol, obesity and infectious diseases.

The Indonesia Cancer Foundation said that cases of skin cancer in Indonesia have been on the increase, although its prevalence is still lower than lung cancer, cervical cancer and breast cancer."

  7. I won't start a thread dissing God or non-terrorist based religious believers but I will post retorts(for the benefit of the open minded) to those on a crusade to belittle others for their beliefs/ religion.

I myself have no problem with agnostics (of which technically I consider myself) and the regular run of the mill atheist who doesn't use his beliefs as a cudgel on others.

So continue your ranting and raving and I'll continue to post as long as I find it entertaining.

  8. Quite frankly I find this line of reasoning rather bizarre.

I was unaware that religion and God were synonymous.

I see. So you come up with a religious argument which has plenty of animosity , hate and vitriol, against certain of your fellow human beings, then it is me who is full of animosity, hate and vitriol just for mentioning it.

Non of the wisdom, and not very intelligent either is the religious argument, as it turns out.
