In my opinion, the RR as discussed in books etc is flawed. The real RR in my view is the gain a trade makes divided by the drawdown experienced in a trade (even if the trade is a winner).
NO, that was your stop on your "intra-day trade" not your swing trade. You said something like you would NOT be short here for your swing trade. You would have been short from higher prices (which you never gave). Then you said earlier, the swing short would have been generated from the breaking of the 20 day EMA at 1792 which means you would NOT have had a swing short from higher prices. Nodoji, I'm sure you are a nice person, but your posts absolutely contradict themselves almost every time. And you flip from intra-day to swing everytime the market turns. I'm just asking you, politely, where and how would you possibly have been short on your swing trade when the genesis of your swing short was the breaking of the 20 day EMA.
Give her a little break Mav. Back to trading: did you notice the new concept of RR? I introduced the concept. Could you come up with a name for it? If people were to use the name, and I were to write about it, I would give credit.
I called the trade at 2:45 when I saw 1788.50 bid/1788.75 ask. And I clearly stated that I would not be initiating a swing trade at that moment. I was asked to make a live call.
Right you said you "would" be short at that moment. That is not the same thing as making a live call. Jesus, you are making me miss Surf here. LOL.
Dear a**wipe, I introduced the concept (here) of marking R/R to heat taken on the trade and the outcome. It's in every single journal I've written; dozens if not hundreds of times. So you're plagiarizing. It was the only performance metric used when I authored this journal. Here's one of hundreds of references made; "PTT risk" ... "peak to trough": http://elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=3775445&highlight=risk#post3775445 http://elitetrader.com/vb/search.ph...=4399436&sortby=lastpost&sortorder=descending It's exceedingly insulting when you consider the fact that you've posted to most, if not all, of my journals to date.
Please do enlighten us on how to properly fulfill your request to: "give us your assessment right here at 1788 on the spoos". I read your request, I told you my assessment by way of a real time call, I included a stop loss, and I even offered a profit target zone around 1777. I'm beginning to wonder if a) you are Surf or, b) you're drinking heavily.
