Sarah Palin Draws Huge Audiences As Fox Contributor By Noel Sheppard January 15, 2010 - 00:29 ET While mainstream media members continue to belittle her at every opportunity, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin attracted huge audiences in her first two official appearances as a Fox News Channel contributor. Debuting on Tuesday's "O'Reilly Factor," the former vice presidential candidate drew almost 4 million viewers more than doubling the combined total of MSNBC's Keith Olbermann and CNN's Campbell Brown. The following evening on "Glenn Beck," Palin attracted over 3 million -- at 5PM! Regardless of what her detractors say, Palin was a smash hit (complete numbers below the fold courtesy TVBytheNumbers.com, Tuesday first): 8PM â P2+ (25-54) (35-64) The OâReilly Factor â 3,954,000 viewers (993,000) (1,786,000) Campbell Brown â 999,000 viewers (284,000) (363,000) Countdown w/ K. Car wrecks draw a lot of attention too. There's no doubt that Palin will draw big numbers; Fox viewers are her constituency. But it's pretty hilarious that her supporters would be trumpeting these particular numbers on the first day. They sure as hell won't remain this high. One thing we now know for sure is that Palin has zero chance of winning the GOP nomination in 2012. She may believe she does, but a few months of 'Department of Law' type gaffes and those Americans who may still think she's qualified will be able to feel okay about letting her go. Still, she's richer than 99.999% of guys on here, so who's to say she didn't succeed? However, there's a big difference between her success and that of Ann Coulter.
I think you are underestimating her appeal. Remember in 2000, 50% of voters, voted for Bush and 50% for Gore. She has more appeal than both of them put together imo.
True. Aside from some of his outlandish and quirky views, he is actually quite intelligent and very well-spoken. It's just unfortunate that he was bitten by dogma. Palin, on the other hand, has no redeeming qualities that I have been able to identify.
