Thanks for the sage advice, glad you are reflecting on back when you were 20...I'm 26 been there done that, got the t-shirt. I know why I want to trade....hint: it's not to manage other people's money. I've been to school for a couple years and realized it was pointless for me.personally. Sorry, maybe it's because I was in the military, but you just look at shit a little different when you get out...I realized quickly that college had nothing to offer me.
You are a failure if you dropped out of college. I can't believe a 26 y.o. would know anything about making money trading.
Did you see what he had to work with and what he ended up with physique wise? Scoot Helvenston trained the people from GI Jane, and that didn't make him less credible. Fucking jackass. I didn't say he directed/produced it.
ha ha ha wow, you are proving my point very well. ha ha ha I went to the University of Somalia with a few satellite classes at U of Afghanistan, so fuck you cocksucker, and your little faggot frat boy friends that feel special because someone gave you a piece of paper that says you're smart. lol .
I am not knocking college per se, it's a way to have some excellent experiences, etc.... See, my problem lies with those that fool themselves into thinking that college is the only way to go, or else you're a loser or a failure. They spent 4+ years at school and paid a lot of money (or their mommy and daddy did) and it hurts their feelings to face the reality that there are people out there who didn't do that, and yet can still be more successful than them. I'll let you in on a secret- about the time that first bullet whizzes past your head.....you learn more about yourself than any ANY fucking university could ever teach you. Sorry, but you just cannot appreciate that until it happens. You can fool yourself and think that one night you drank 28 beers and took a xanax and had to go the emergency room, and had to call the ambulance yourself because your bros wouldn't take you cause they were on a panty raid taught you something about yourself... If you think along those lines, college boys who think they are better than non-students, my advice to you, is that you should stick to bragging about things you are allowed to brag about, and stop bragging about things you didn't earn the right to brag about....you can talk shit and wave your piece of paper around and go to your class reuinions and remember times you got shitfaced and climbed the flagpole or whatever....but you'll never be able to reflect on the shit some of us vets can, and you'll never know how much of an advantage it is in your life and thinking if you can survive it. I am a mortgage loan officer, not involved with subprime, etc....there are folks with college degrees who work in the same job as me...I make pretty good money for a 26 year old, especially when you factor in my trading, which is beginning to eclipse my salary. (I started out from zero and saved up for my account, no help from mommy and daddy there). The 70/20/10 goes for all classes, all races, every human will find a spot in that breakdown somewhere.
Why don't you enlighten us on how you made so much money this year trading while holding a full time job. I call bullshit.
Thanks, glad you liked it. The guy that told it to me wasn't college educated. People here think that it's some battle over whether or not to go- The reality of it is, there are pros and cons to each approach and you need to weigh them for yourself before making decisions. Based on your goals, which one fits you the best, that is what everyone facing that decision should be thinking about.... I think many who have a degree find their feelings hurt that others do not have to "go through" what they did to succeed, and it takes away from their feelings of specialness. I understand, college grads that feel this way, believe me, I do, but unfortunately your emotions cannot and do not alter reality in the least. Thanks Clacy, you made a very good statement, about how it is an individual decision. Good post.
Aaah, another troll with 14 posts. Know anyone from Trading Zoo or PureTick by any chance? I am not sure what you're asking for. Does someone have sour grapes? Newsflash It's not hard to swing/position trade and have a full time job, if you have a good method that allows for your time constraints and contingencies in place. Nope, not a scalper/daytrader. maybe that's where you're getting hung up. it's okay though, you'll be alright.
I know this is off topic and I already tried searching, but I want to start seriously doing this but I need my foot in the door. Is there any free online stuff to get started or there any books you guys advise?
There are quite a few guys here that work at prop firms and institutions, so hopefully they can offer some insight.
