You can Eat Pasta and Still be Ripped

  1. Why are you citing that article which is filled with bad info, that does not support your point really. There is more mis-information that fact about Keto Diets. The fact that they involve difficult food choices and therefore do not work just shows it comes down to lack of any self control on the part of the person, not the diet. If you cannot live without your bread or your pasta or sugar then don't blame the diet.

  2. I think if you read the links I posted in that thread you will see that it comes to more than just a lack of self-control over time to adhere to that kind of diet. There is the issue of it possibly being detrimental over the long term. Regardless, I don't adhere to it nor do I need to.

  3. You don't have to adhere to it, but the link posted had misinformation and plenty of assumptions so does not serve as a good counter to the benefits of Keto.

  4. Multiple links. Referring to people far more knowledgeable in the field than I am. You will understand if I will defer to their judgment over yours, at least for now. And we've already been down this road before:

  5. Cmon...you think this is MY personal opinion? I am talking about numersou studies by doctors and ph.ds... you know people far more knowledgeable than you. If you are not so knowing, then why take someone at face value just because they have a degree when there are so many facts out there that prove them wrong? Not trying to convince you but then don't hang your opinion on a subject you know nothing about by quoting someone you think knows what they are talking about when they are easily proven wrong in what they said.

My problem is to continue to claim ignorance of a subject and then site someone as gospel when it is incorrect. I can easily read all those studies and medical reports and understand what is factual.

Just own up to not understanding the subject and read up but don't simply run and find the first article that seems to support your preconceived notion. You don't have to support the diet but you cannot knock it either based on poor research.

    monkeyc

How come the thinnest countries in the world eat carb-based diets with little meat? Sample size-- 2 billion people.

The typical fat American dumps 1000 calories worth of alfredo sauce or sausages onto 350 calories worth of pasta, but you wanna blame the pasta for his/her obesity? Does that mean lettuce is bad for you when someone pours 600 calories worth of salad dressing on it?

  7. My preconceived notion is that, in most areas of life, balance seems to work best in the long run. Going contrary to balance, such as substantially distorting macro-nutrient balance, requires much more evidence for me to readily accept. And so, I am naturally skeptical. And why is your choice of PhDs and MDs better than my choice? I suggest we let this go. Neither of us is going to change the other's mind.
