  3. Oh yes, I currently do the 2 week trial with TradeMaven at proactivefutures. My problem is I don't know how I can do this with CQG Trader.

I guess CQG Trader only allows you to trade ES in demo mode by default.

  5. suprised with all the good info here people don't know THERE ARE NO STOPS ON THE CBOT AS THEY DON'T EXCEPT THEM? all stops on the ym threw trademaven are synthetic stops which means there's stored in your computer and shot oput if your stop is hit. problem is if your computer goes down you're in trouble. on thing that worries me about not having on the book stops is a day like jan 3rd 2001. the dow futures moved like 250 pts in 5 minutes and 100 pts in 30 seconds. without a stop one could have froze. just started using trademaven and i love it. i l;ove everything from there order entry to there one cancels the other to the stop loses on both sides. also there graphs are awesome

oh I didnt know there was no stops on the YM (I dont use them so I never knew); I'll have to check out those programs you guys are talking about.

Are they programs hooked up to a broker then? and they offer a charting package also?

That is why you have a lap top running that has a battery and 2 sources of highspeed internet and a dial up line and a broker that you can call who answers quickly and can hedge your position via open out cry. Prepare for the worst hope for the best.

  9. If you are using IB, stops are held on their servers and not on your PC for exchanges that do not have native stops ie most exchanges.

  10. ok i have an ib account so thats good. i think tis stupid for a synthetic order to be held on your computer till executed. but i have 2 computers one with dsl and one with cable so one should always be up
