rick, Please accept sincerest apology...really.....Yes i do trade but recently have only finished what I call the final system....it is a 4 year study and looks fine...I won't share that or sell....the reason being it is based on extremely specific settings programmed in a totally different manner....pure mechanical...fits any time frame chart....I don't tradeusually 11 to 12 CST....but volente's trade point gave me a signal but a weak one just befor e12..12 noon is turn times a lot..........rules would have exited me @ breakeven.if entry was made...right after that ...another buy was strongly presented @ 715 12 noon....extremly clear buy...with 5 points stop being loose....that is the key to risk/reward.....setting the stop properly and not randomly......never a big stop required....after u find the right stuff ...all tests are realtime intraday...i have traded and seen all 3 emini's es nq ym......started out working for a man with 28 million dollar bankroll and he was a gambler....4 yrs later they are still not making money ES and have abandoned that for stock options etc. Your comment about countertrend today is exactly a correct observation as i see it...watched system perform all day realtime and it gave the up moves clearly over and over....no real sells today until this afternoon and not too strong at that..the 730 strong sell @ 1o pm is typical for 1:00 pm CST..... until 2 at least...as far as i know...just took a quick glance and it still looks rugged....@ 2:23 or so.... Today the oscillators such as macd, stochastic, %R, all probably locked upward for this morning.....not looked but locked. Even a simple 10 sma showed how strong the uptrend was even as noon passed......also the 15 min chart didn't weaken as reactively as did the 5.....i feel most here are countertrend traders which I don't do....If the trend doesn't change I don't trade against it unless there is huge divergence.....staring at me. I am 62 yrs old and not very intelligent, had a big stroke last summer and don't know much, so you boys be kind to an old man.....I am just extremely determined as I love this business and have a tremendous passion for it.... wish u, volente and all the rest the best rickshaw
Ripley, I had the opposite problem ..liked the harder down runs....they all produce points if u devise the system that looks the same down as up...u strike a balance....whatever comes u can take it with confidence......good luck
What do you think this is Oprah Winfrey's chat room, man this is giving me the creeps, bunch of frigging pansies. Signing off.
Me too rick...bye bye...JMowery...if u want to learn to trade, stick with your mentor....if u have one....gone bye bye........
It was a horrible "Movement Against Equity" trade. But, I got out at 10713 with 15 cars, at 15:17:41 pm. With $52 bucks as well.
"I have know idea why someone would want to try and pick intraday tops on a strong up day, Look for dips and go long. I just have these thoughts of being short then the exchange has trouble, oh man that would be tough. I smell a correction coming up, anyone want to short? A break of 10713 would do it." My favorite way to profit is by fading trends intraday. As I posted the Dow would either fall to 695 of go to 735. I bet on the fall, was wrong and got stopped out. Losing trades are part of the game and as long as you stick to your rules then you just accept your losses and move on to the next trade. Currently I am short from 740 with a stop at 760. Let's see if the MNR can shake me out.
I sure am impressed of your strategy volente, can´t really figure out how you know when to fade, but it´s fun to follow your entries and exits. Well, I´m not supposed to understand, I´m a stupid newbie... /Stalker
