The new equation is busy trading and up 122 YM points and no more than 1 consecutive loss, so far. (I made some more adjustments) see attached. Michael B.
Maybe, its just a freak day, but this new equation is up 183 points! I can now say this is mine, and because of you folks at ET with your encouragement, I was able to find what little creativity I had left to think about and stay focused on one thing. Michael B.
Hey Michael: I am finished for the day. A nice day for me as I sold the ES at 1101. I am glad you are finding some success. You have certainly worked for it. Congratulations. By the way, I am not into Mcdonalds. You are going to have to pop for a double/double at my local "In & Out". I have some chores to do so I will reivew your results later in the evening. Dont get too excited about preliminary results. You have a lot of testing to do before you can say you have any significant edge here. I hope it works out for you. Best Regards, Steve46 P.S. There is one thing I want to mention while I am thinking about it. Mechanical systems don't discriminate based on when a breakout happens. It is true however that late day reversals have the potential to provide big profits (just look at what happened today). If it is possible, you want to find a way to trade bigger size when you have a late day reversal. I learned this from Mark Fisher and it is one of the few trading ideas that has always worked. Talk to you later.
steve46 Thanks! There needed to be more levels that were sensitive to the distance from the open. I find the early levels hard to trade though. I would like to open them up. Michael B.
Okay now you have me going. Look the early trades are hard to handle because of the noise level. This is especially true in the summer. Take a look at Mark Fisher's book "Logical Trader". He approaches this by using a pivot range rather than a single line in the sand. Above that range, you trade long, below go short and in between, just watch. Think about that idea. Integrating something like that into your system might be a plus.
Hey steve, I appreciate your massive contribution on ET. I guess there was a moment, when you decided to do so, and thats great. I love "in-n-out" too, you in Cali?
Santa Barbara CA. Thanks for the kind words. Dont want to be impolite but I promised myself I would start to have a life. I am outa here for a bit. Talk to you all later. Steve46
It is the time to start a new Journal and forward test this new system. Watch for the YM journal "YM in a Can" v2.00 (for ET subscribers only) I will not be posting trades to this journal any longer, but will be glad for discussion. Michael B. P.S. I will be ordering charts from E-sig next week. Thanks again Steve, Quah, Fan and others...and may the probabilites be with you and may you be wise enough to follow them and take out of the market what it gives.
