  1. A insurance agent showed me a form his company just sent down, which he must have customers sign, which says he is compensated for selling them insurance.

    Anyone not already aware of this is too dumb to breath.

    Perhaps the insurance company is being proactive against any potential liability lawsuit by getting the customers to acknowledge that they know the agents are not 'working' on their behalf but for the benefit of the insurer. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. The same disclosure had to be implemented in the real estate profession to let the people involved in a transaction know who the agents were representing. Salesmen have a bad habit of making the customer think they are their best friend and are looking out for their interest. Nothing could be further from the truth. Sales commissions are the name of the game.
