First Half of 2006 Is Warmest on Record Jul 14 1:06 PM US/Eastern Email this story WASHINGTON The first half of the year was the warmest on record for the United States. The government reported Friday that the average temperature for the 48 contiguous United States from January through June was 51.8 degrees Fahrenheit, or 3.4 degrees above average for the 20th century. That made it the warmest such period since recordkeeping began in the National Climatic Data Center reported. No state was cooler than average and five states _ Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, and Missouri _ experienced record warmth for the period. While much of the Northeast experienced extreme rainfall and flooding at the end of June many other areas continued below normal rain and snowfall. As of June, 45 percent of the contiguous U.S. was in moderate-to- extreme drought, an increase of 6 percent from May. Dry conditions spawned more than 50,000 wildfires, burning more than 3 million acres in the continental U.S., according to the National Interagency Fire Center. Worldwide, it was the sixth warmest year-to-date since record keeping began in 1880. http://www.breitbart.com/news/2006/07/14/D8IRSULOB.html
Don't liberals ever tire of this kind of handwringing? It was hot, so what? Better hot than the sort of ice age temps much of north america had for much of history.
I understand cause and effect. Nothing the global warming fascists are proposing will change a thing, except to create a depression and enormously increase government intervention in the economy, which is their true goal anyway.
So you plan is to just turn on the AC and stay cool. What a global thinker you are...what a visionary.
Nova had a piece on âGlobal Dimming.â Temperatures are not rising as much as they should because there are more particulates in the air, which dims the sun, including infrared. So hereâs my solution: pollute the air more. If weâre spewing carbon dioxide, we better spew all that other shit too.
No they don't. Google "Volcanoes" and read up. The emissions from volcanoes (and other sources of particulate matter) have a cooling effect on the atmosphere.
And your plan is really going to change anything. Have you, visionary, ever seen temperature chart for last 10 000 years or so? Because if you have you would know that with current temperature raising there is really nothing new going on.
