    ...uneducated, welfare dependent, brutalised youngsters

If you live a normal life of absolute futility, which we can assume most of this week’s rioters do, excitement of any kind is welcome. The people who wrecked swathes of property, burned vehicles and terrorised communities have no moral compass to make them susceptible to guilt or shame.

Most have no jobs to go to or exams they might pass. They know no family role models, for most live in homes in which the father is unemployed, or from which he has decamped.

They are illiterate and innumerate, beyond maybe some dexterity with computer games and BlackBerries.

but who needs morality anyhow? that demands some kind of higher authority, or better known amongst 'intellectuals' (aka, those driving popular culture) as the flying spaghetti monster

I pretty much assume anything coming out of UK "newspapers"/private media as tabloid trash focused on sensationalism for click bait or to sell papers.

And for anyone to fixate and blame their opposing political ideology for all the problems in their bubble of a world... this just seems to be more of the same old convenient scapegoating vs critically thinking about the real potential cause of these recent events: poor parenting, adult support, and supervision.

As they say: it takes a village to raise a child.

And it seems the unfortunate result could be the out of control child burning down the village.

Maybe England should call in the "The Road Warrior", Mel Gibson. He could take care of the situation.

Also, might call in Snake Plissken. He knows how to handle these types too.
