From the river to the sea has been used mainly with one intent...erase Israel. God is great is a general chant so...
"From the river to the sea Palestine will be free." You know, it doesn't sound so bad if you just cheer it up with a catchy tune, like Texaco.
What is the basis for that claim? Most accounts I've found rely on context. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/From_the_river_to_the_sea Now it's entirely possible that this naive dumb 'merican is being hoodwinked, I just don't know who's doing the hoodwinking That is used by many terrorists before each attack. My argument is Palestinians are claiming "from the river to the sea" is a historical term to them too w/o necessarily a genocidal intent. So either one side is lying or there's nuance much like "allahu akbar"
i think you just answered your question...context....allah akubar is often screamed before terrorists attacks but not used a lto in common discussions by the general population. So when you hear it you think of that one context. From the river to the sea has been used by extremeist groups to promote the eradication of Jews/Israel, not just the ones in the Israeli military uniforms but all over the world. I am sure Israel's actions over the past month or so certainly radicalized every single Gazan/Palestinian beyond repair so like the Hamas attack changed Israel's view forever of Palestinians, peace loving non Hamas affiliated Palestinians certainly are not going to be any fan/friend to Israel. Israel is going to have to deal with the fall out of their reactions to Oct 7th. I find it funny that self entitled college kids are taking up strict sides in this issues when deep down there is plenty of apathy. Jewish and Muslim students getting attacked by people protesting against violence and mislabeling. When Hamas is wiped out, I fear what will take its place (a la Isis).
Palestinian "journalists" are active members of Hamas. Welcome to Pallywood. They are so proud of brutally murdering all the children and families on October 7th. Fired CNN Journalist Accused of Ties to Hamas on Oct. 7 Posted Video Riding on Motorbike With Grenade-Wielding Man Hassan Eslaiah apparently made the 35-second recording while riding on a motorcycle behind the man waving the explosive device https://themessenger.com/news/cnn-f...amas-oct-7-scrubs-facebook-hand-grenade-video
My point is both alluh akbar and "from the river to the sea" have been used by terrorists and in the vernacular by population (If the claims are correct) so don't get the claims that it's merely a call to genocide used by terrorists. Israel's own Likud party has it in its foundation charter: https://apnews.com/article/river-se...latform of,will only be Israeli sovereignty.” I can't fault Israelis from feeling attacked over the slogan, it's very much like our own "manifest destiny" which native Americans or Mexican Americans may find offensive, but does it make it hate speech?
