Since the day that Israel was established as a nation in 1948, the surrounding Arab nations have attacked Israel and attempted to wipe it off the face of the earth multiple times (Six-Day War, Yom Kippur War, etc.). The Arab nations lost both their aggressive wars and land in the their attempts to wipe out all the Jews in Israel -- leading to the situation the region is in today. It is actually the surrounding Arab nations which had genocidal intent in the wars that they launched.

The United States and all civilized western nations should support Israel, the only Democracy in the Middle East, in stopping the attacks of terrorists intent on the genocide of all Jews in Israel -- as Hamas states directly as their objective in their written charter. If Israel's actions are excessive (e.g. stopping food aid in Gaza) then the backing nations should certainly demand changes in Israel's approach.

It's obviously a very long complicated history of Israel and the surrounding states (whether that be terrible attacks on innocent civilians, by both sides now, or illegal annexations of land and forced starvation). But you say "if Israel's actions are excessive"? And therein lies the problem. Most "civilized" countries around the world I'm sure are appalled by the situation there at the moment. "the backing nations should certainly demand changes". They see it, but do nothing. They will not accept criticism from the outside world. If USA backs them unequivocally then it MUST be right.. because USA is the only country in the world that that knows real TRUTH. And the current government only believes in real TRUTH and doing the right thing because it is the most honest and upstanding government the world has ever seen. Is that about right?

Simplified to the point of parody. History didn’t begin in 1948, and framing every conflict since as a defensive war by a blameless democracy ignores a century of dispossession, ethnic cleansing, and the cynical use of fear to justify domination.

Plenty of Jewish voices, religious and secular, call the modern Israeli state an ABOMINATION, not out of self-hatred, but out of moral clarity and historical memory. You might learn something by listening to them instead of parroting hasbara scripts meant for middle-schoolers.

Just remember that Hamas murdered and took hostage citizens of many countries on October 7th. Many of these people were not Jewish; nor were they dual citizens of Israel.

This is the story about Nattapong Pinta, a citizen of Thailand, who was taken hostage on October 7th and then later murdered by Hamas.

    And Zionists gonna Zionist.

There are truly vile actors in Israel, in Muslim countries, in America driving all of this. Truly vile British and French who fucked it up a hundred years ago.

But the ones who matter, the ones worth defending, are the meek. The civilians. The kids under rubble. The elders with nowhere to flee.

You don’t have to take sides with power. Just be the rising tide that raises all ships. That’s enough.

After the collapse of the Ottoman Empire, a vision for much of the Levant, including Palestine, was not an ethno-nationalist state but a pluralistic, post-imperial entity, ideally governed in a way that respected the diversity of its populations: Muslims, Christians, Jews, Druze, and others who all claimed the area as most holy to them.

Had the Ashkenazi Settlers stuck to buying land, things would have been a lot better. But they saw a chance to take it.

I saw an interview with one of the Thais, he understood perfectly there was a danger money element to the job, as they were brought in as scabs. Previously Gazans on work permits did the work.

I'm sure some knew but the money was good and some didn't have much of a clue about taking lifeline jobs, pissed off the people a few kilometers away.
